There's a BMW part you can buy, but I think thread killer fabricated his own.

I was quoted $650 by my dealer as well. Im thinking about doing it because I feel its needed more then we think. Would you say there is a bit of an MPG bump? I know it will be MUCH smoother. $650 is just a littttttle more then I would want to spend. Especially if it doesnt quite merit the savings on gas. I have an 80 mile daily commute now (95% of the drive is highway) so getting a nice gain in MPG would be nice. I just turned over 50k this week (but warranty was out 2 months ago)
Haven't really noticed gas mileage increases. I only commute 10 mins all city driving to work.

Yeam thats hardly enough to notice that. I know on my friends X5 and my old Maxima that when I ran BG44k I would get a solid 2mpg increase afterwards, so I know intakes being clean helps quite a bit. Ill probably see what a local indy shop will cost and see if its worth it to pay BMW to do it at $650. I know it will need it at some point. Hopefully I can have my SA take before and after shots for me too?
