The difference is that the n54 hasn't reached its full potential yet. I wouldnt be surprised if it could reliably support well over 700whp. Also, I don't think is methanol is absolutely necessary to make these power levels with the n54. It's just a nice precaution over running it on race gas alone.

I think people are used to numbers generated by cars with strong midrange that run out of turbo on the top end. So yes, those cars go fast with lower peak horsepower numbers because their area under the curve is still pretty good. Keep turning up your boost on that turbo and eventually your numbers will make sense to them when you're making 700whp and 1000ft/lbs :-).
