$350 shipped (ebay) heres the specs fwiw sits perfect does not hang low
ive had it on for 4-months now and have been happy with my "ebay intercooler" purchase.. if this is robbing me from running 11's id fork up the 3x asking price for a name brand unit for sure.. but i highly doubt it. •Brand new universal 27''x6''x6'' front mount intercooler. Made of high quality T6061 aluminum. •Bar and Plate design.High flow and light weight.Support up to 500HP and 35PSI. •Compress air flow rate: 700cubic feet/min. •Pressure drop: 0.2-0.5 at 15PSI, 2-5 at 35PSI. •Full size: 27''x 6''x 6''.Inlet/Outlet: 2.5''/2.5'' •Core size: 22''x 6''x 6''.

If $350 can get you as much as $900 why the price difference? Not doubting just curious. How was the install? All hardware either used from OEM or supplied?

!!! It's ridiculous to start yet another thread about fmic's! There's more than enough info on this forum

[QUOTE=benzy89;12045795]On stock settings, the car is completely fine. The minute owners start increasing the boost & pursuing more power, the "weak" points start to reveal themselves. The intake becomes restrictive, the FMIC doesn't meet the car's cooling needs, the DVs + CP crack/break under high boost, turbos get burnt out from being over worked. But that's why when you start seriously modding, it's nearly impossible to keep it a small expense. But IMO, I'd rather put a dent in my bank account then break the bank fixing the engine.
I disagree. My ecu was pulling timing on long/hard uphill climbs in hot weather w/o a tune due to high iat's. ETS fmic has prevented that from occurring ever since I installed it 3 yrs ago.

If you really want the best "bang for buck" FMIC, go with the Big Tom DIY. It's as effective as the $900+ kits, but cost ~$300 (without labor). Last edited by benzy89; 05-28-2012 at 07:25 PM.. |

Search first, ask questions later.
I have a RPI FMIC and it is within 20 degrees of ambient most of the time. If I sit in traffic it goes a little higher and on the highway at speed it's 10-15 above ambient. All at 6500ft+ above sea level. |

-Still waiting on VRSF's offering but so far havent seen pics or anything. Kind of starting to give up hope.
-Leaning towards the Big Tom style DIY Intercooler (cheapest so far priced out to 300 or so shipped) -Possibly go for the AA Intercooler GB going on right now (a 5'' core with no cutting involved?) -The ebay intercooler by vereak82 sounds tempting too... decisions, decisions... |

You know, I was just sitting around thinking to myself "I wonder what the best FMIC is". I'm so glad this thread popped up.
Now that this issue is solved, I find myself sitting around thinking "should I install Dinan or perhaps some other tune...I wonder if anyone else has ever discussed it on the forums". |

HaHa - Did anyone see E90Company actually came out and said the Dinan has the best FMIC.... I half way agree, he did say they were the most expensive.
Sorry, but I've never seen a side by side that would indicate Dinan being the best for anything other then putting a race me I'm slow badge on your car and charging 2 to 3x more for parts. OP, save yourself some time and money and talk to Jeff@topgearsolutions. Good luck and have fun. |
