pricing it at $38k base would totally break their current marketing campaign -- reincarnating 2002.
also, they would create one model in their line-up that sells worse than Z4.

There seems to be some lapses in logic here.
Assuming similarly equipped the 135 is $7K less then a 335 then where did the savings come from? Is it because the 335 price is inflated to the point that a similarly built car could make a profit at 7K less? If so why would BMW kill their cash cow and pass along the difference to the consumer? If it’s actually 7K cheaper to build then where did they cut costs? And if they cut costs, how will that effect the car’s performance? |

Cheaper tires No sunroof No Logic7 No HIDs Cheaper exhaust system Cheaper materials (no wood trim, etc) Cheaper suspension bits ...... It can be done, but I think the fact that the 135i comes with the M-Sport package (which would probably be like a $2500-$3000 option here if sold separately), it will be closer to $35K than $32K.

It's the same size as an e46...QUOTE] it is only comparable to an e46 in width. in average dimension it is closest to an e36. |

Here's my vote for the pool. Pricing before options:
128i $29,900 135i $33,500 Besides the usual differences we see in the 328i versus 335i (standard xenons, better stereo, etc), the 135i will have the M-sport styling kit and Brembo brakes standard, which may make it more expensive than some expect.

I would pay that 8 grand because of the looks... if i wanted a fast ugly car i'd gone with an Evo or STi the 135i just don't look right, and i don't think the sales of E92 will be affected much.
