Radio stations sounds like something with a battery, did you ground all the wires properly?

1. As JDrago mentioned, the BATT wire should be with 12V steady power supply. And please also turn off the RDS to have a try. Thanks! 2. The 3G function can only support Chinese now, so actually it's not quite useful, you can just ignore it, thanks! And welcome to share with us your installation pics and video too, thanks a lot! ![]() |

Regards to radio stations you need to find a constant power load 12V. I found mine in the fuse box. |

When the headlight detection is on, the screen will will dimmed automatically while your headlight is turned on at night. If you want the screen light off, just click the sun/moon logo on the top of the screen under radio or other modes is OK, quite easy. ![]() |

Sorry if the instruction manual details this but:
Where are people putting the GPS antenna? On their dash? Outside the car? and What does the CAN BUS decoder do? Does something plug into it/it into something? |

Eonon D5165 BMW E90
I am new to this forum and this is my first post.
I have installed Eonon in a Nissan and Audi in the past. Both worked really well, but the installation required some customization in both cases. But not so excessive. My experience with the D5165 has been a bit frustrating so far. It has been two days. The unit looks and performs great, but there are some clear problems at this point. First off, it was hard finding someone that would install this because it is Eonon. Nobody wants to deal with this brand because they claim there are too many problems. I eventually found professional help only for the wiring. They refused to help with the fitting. What doesn't work so far? Here are the results so far: 1. When trying to access the DVD function, it stated "No device" 2. The screen had gone black. When the car starts the BMW logo shows and then the screen goes black. When I put the car in reverse the reverse camera works, but then when I put in the car in Park or Drive it goes black. I learned this is because none of the buttons on the console work. Only the touch screen works so I wasn't able to power it on. I was able to power it on using the remote that comes with this unit. I think I might have gottena defective unit because when I order they told me it was out of stock, but they shipped me something anyways. I will keep you updated on this... 3. It fit decently, but not really anywhere close to perfect. I doubt any aftermarket dvd would fit as good as the factory layout. This unit does require customization to make it fit. I am waiting for a resolution to the issues above before I spend time fitting it 100% Questions Why do none of the console buttons work? They should work because they worked on previous models? Is there something I can do to make it fit better? I am fortunate that I have a black interior so it blends in. I will update you on my experience with this in the coming weeks. If I am able to get the DVD and console buttons to work I will complete the fitting the best I can and repost new photos. But this is what it looks like now. |

My fitting was the exact same. I took it to BMW and they wouldnt touch it. The unit does look nice but u have to remove the entire bracket behind the original head unit which then means theres nothing supporting the eonon so because its such a bad fit, u will find that when you go over a bump, your entire headunit will fall right out. You also have to shave the plastic off your climate control unit aswel which looks hideous. I feel i may have made a mistake buying this unit but it cost the same amount to ship it back to china as it did to buy it. I have had no resolution from eonon and dont expect one either. I hope u have some luck with your buttons and havent thrown your cash away. A few other issues i had was. The sat nav does not speak and does not tell turn by turn. There is no picture in picture so whats on the screen stays on the screen. The radio does not store your stations so have to put them in everytime u start the car. Do some research in to this and the fitting before parting with your cash. |

so finally finished installing eonon d5165, fit in fairly well, had to do some trimming at the temp control area, had to do some rewiring to make it work.
only problems i'm having with my unit is that the sd card is defective for gps, emailed eonon today waiting for a response. if you have logic 7, look for another unit, unless you want to do a lot of rewiring like I did, lol ![]() as long I can get my gps working this week I'm pretty happy with this unit sofar. ![]() ps, ones you remove the bracket for install, you can use 2 long screws to hold deck in place (one under the on/of button and one under the tuning button) make sure screws are long enough. |

About the installation, you can take a look at douwe22’s installation method and have a try:" once you remove the bracket for install, you can use 2 long screws to hold deck in place (one under the on/of button and one under the tuning button) make sure screws are long enough." Thanks! ![]() Quote:
![]() About the PIP function, this D5165 is designed in this way, it doesn’t have this function. Hope you can understand. Last edited by EononCarDVD; 08-19-2013 at 02:37 AM.. |

This is what they advised for me to do next steps for my issues above. I will try later today or tomorrow and keep you updated: As for the situation you mentioned with the dvd, please have a check as following: A. Check if the two screws on the top of the unit are removed B. Check if there is a disc in the unit. C. Check if it is in DVD mode. D. Reconnect the power cables and reset the unit. And about the button on the panel can not work, please have a check as following : A. Check if one button was stuck or all buttons can not work. Check if the buttons can not work in all modes. Re-install the panel and reset the unit. B. Check if the relative buttons on the button can work. If so, then the buttons on the panel are faulty. |

for the radio station you need a constant 12v power supply, hook up the yellow wire from the wiring harness to a 12v constant power, you can find that in the fuse box in the glove compartment, I purchased a fuse adaptor and installed at the following link fuse :

1. Why weren't any of my buttons working? Because one of the buttons was stuck. I was able to pull that out using my finger tips. 2. Why wasn't my DVD player working? Because I am a noob. I was not inserting the disc properly. It needs to be inserted at a slight incline because the stereo is on a negative incline relative to the head unit 3. Fitting - The fitting cannot be flush no matter what. This is because the curvature on the face of the Eonon is not curved as much as the factory. Also the climate control is what is pushing against the dash. The climate control was initially higher. But now it is at the complete bottom and this causes the two inputs for the climate control to hit the dash. You could cut a little bit of the dash, but that will only push it in by about half inch. The curvature of Eonon does not equal the curvature of the factory stereo and this is why it will never be flush. Would I recommend it to someone else? It depends on how badly you want bluetooth, iPod, GPS, DVD, a 7 inch screen, cool radio looking integration vs. the classy BMW style. For the my BMW stock is not fancy enough and I needed the extra bells and whistles. |
