I also see on your site that there is a 60W and 80W option. Any modifications require for those or are those plug and play too?

The gasket on those is a bit tight and sometimes the housing is a bit dusty/dirty. Put a little wd-40 on the gasket. That should help it lock in easier. Also compare the tabs and make sure the orientation is the same.

I wonder how these would work as fog light bulbs?

I dont think its worth spending over 100 bucks on this fogs...I would just go with GP Thunder bulbs for fogs, that are way cheaper.

Nice!

Can you get some day time pictures in the sun from about 30 feet away at eye level? That would help out prospective buyers.

Thanks! We got a bunch of guys with the 60W but nobody has sent me pics!

I'm about to grab a local customers car to do it myself but I rather have real customers pictures.

I bought the same kit last year and they were bright like that and one of the rings is not that bright at all anymore.

Also now when I have the lights in Auto mode on, when I turn the wheel the inner light comes on everytime and then it disappears when I straightened the wheels, this happens every time with both sides and is super annoying!

I have a 2007 328i coupe and it took me forever to install them as it was very difficult to make them fit thru the inside of the hood.

Overall, yes almost not noticeable in a sunny day but they do look awesome once its getting darker.

If anyone has any idea on how to fix the light thing I would be very much grateful!
If you guys wanna see what I'm talking bout, let me know and I can post a picture.

I really wish the vendors would give us actual lumen ratings for each product. You would think places that focus on lighting products would have access to an integrating sphere and understand the importance of objective light output measurement...

Your inner city lights are supposed to light up when you turn... the car comes like that from the factory. The LED you purchased did not make them do that.

Someone proficient with the install can do it in under 10 minutes, myself included. It just takes doing it a few times to understand the tricks and confines of the area.

Shoot us an email and we can get you the lumens.

Lumens is fairly irrelevant as A) the lights do not faceoutwards on most applications and B) you can have high lumens based on a bulb having 4 LED or more but the physical output is still not that high due to other exterior factors C) The typical H8 housing are flawed from the factory with the outer ring of light needing to travel further then the inner ring and D) Since these lights are nearly 6000K there is not much contrast in the sun because the color is so white.

Yeah, I'm aware of the limitations of both the headlight and bulb design, but lumens are still useful in comparing products of similar design/LED arrangement. For example, if you were to publish the lumen output of the 40W/60W/80W models, it would provide a good means of basic comparison between the units. Obviously it's not applicable for comparison against, say, a standard 3100k halogen H8 bulb.

For the lumen measurements you alluded to, are you gathering those with the use of an integrating sphere, or is it simply the manufacturer-quoted max lumen output of each emitter multiplied by the number of emitters and not taking the drivers into account?

There is a small delay in the factory system for that light, normal.

Like I said, if you are interested in lumens output shoot us an email, we will then direct your questions to the manufacturer. I personally have no idea what you even asked, I'm a performance guy! If the lights work and look good that's all I care Just being honest

I have a few guys like yourself that are really interested in the inner workings, as a retailer that information isn't really brought to our attention (or listed on the box).

99% of our customer base is just concerned with A) reliability B) price C) how they look

We understand there are people that really want the detailed information and how the thing ticks. Most of that lighting jargon, emitters chips and stuff is not on the box for me to relay back to you. So I need to contact the manufacturers and see if they know. These things go through several hands before they reach us so getting to that information is sometimes not possible. Most of that stuff is just beyond the normal scope of questions we receive.

Do these stay at full brightness at all times, or do they dim when headlights are on?
