that sounds like good news... i just got my blacklines in today... will be installing those tomorrow... but where can i get those bulbs? JLEVI?

can you tell me exactly what bulb i should try?
also, is there any disparity in intensity, or with the led's is it bright throughout?

The yellow was pretty evenly distributed, I ordered a few sets of PIAA 1156 bulbs to see how those look. I really like PIAA bulbs and they usually are brighter then stock, so in a few days when I get them I will put them in and take pictures of them.

Yeah JLeviSW has the 26LED bulbs for front and rears of our cars, for the front and rear blinkers you need the load resistors. If you want to get the white 26LED 1156 bulb for the rear rods you will not need the resistor as our cars dont check that bulb for error messages

I don't know how bright the LED's will be, so I am just going to order PIAA 1156 bulbs, and see if those make any difference

This sounds like an interesting modification to do to the car. I have to agree that the E92 does have very bright taillights (E92 was driving behind me last night) and did notice his lights were pretty bright.

yep, i brought up this topic because if it's effective, i think it'll be one of the most apparent and cost effective mods for the e90.

just installed my blacklines in less than 25min... very straightforward and easy install.
Now, this brightrodmod would look great on my blacklines... i must say though, that blacklines really DO look MUCH better in person. "
Originally, i hated blacklines on Alpine White, but after actually installing it, whoa was i mistaken.

Mattscott, let us know what happens with your experiment... and do you mind elaborating on what the difference between Piaa LED 1156 and JLEVI 26led 1156 bulbs are?

so, it seems that the intensity is much brighter with blacklines than on stock rears... i double checked, and it looks like they are the same bulb, but for some reason, the 3 rods are much brighter with blacklines on...

it could be just the contrast as compared to the all-red stocks. I am eagerly awaiting final word on this 'brightrodmod' as well...

ya, not to sound condescending, but you are wrong... i actually looked at it, and it seems that although the backlines look darker, they are more transluscent? idk... but the point is, the 3 rods are much brighter on blacklines as opposed to stock tails... and i think they use the same bulb as well.

Sheesh, talk about slow responses.

Is this what people are talking about: http://www.xtremewhite.com/ORD-Light...38-1-1-1-1.cfm

If so, Im just gonna head to Pepboys after work and pick these up and take pics to see if theres a difference.

Anyone have a diagram or pic as to which bulbs are the ones to specifically replace?
