17 up top, what did you target midrange? That's very aggressive, but sounds doable and i'm sure pretty explosive.

15* midrange I believe. It was just before ATR was released. I had payed for a protune from some half rate shop who had no idea how to tune the n54. They couldn't get more boost than the OTS Stage 2 + aggressive map, so they just kept increasing timing. I've since tuned the car myself and have traded some timing in for more boost.

Running 15.8 with ZERO timing pulls as is...

Anyone push to 17 to see where we stop gaining power? I can't imagine 18degrees = MBT, but that's just a butt dyno reading. Car felt considerably stronger at that timing, although I never got her out of second gear.

I'm obviously not looking to run this timing on my own car for the time being so everyone can calm down on the safety commentary...although I know it was only looking out for a fellow N54 member

Anyone else pushing beyong 16 degrees, if only in certain RPM ranges?
I used to run 17* on E50 + meth.
Used to...why no longer? Was that what the half rate shop tuned it to or was that you messing around yourself?
Just saw your second reply...interesting...

Wait...are we talking E85 or pump gas?

hey guys I've a really stupid question, 15 degrees means the spark will fire 15 degs before Top dead Center ? maybe at higher rpms is ok but wont this cause knocking if the pistons going up in compression at that time ... sorry this has always been my question never got answered

Yes. Advance refers to degrees BTDC in relation to the compression stroke.

To my knowledge, this is correct. This is why AWTT was running 15 degrees mid range and ramping to 17 degrees up top.
