I just spoke to the insurers.
They told me that the its not economically repairable. They told me its £3000+ for parts and in total with labour, it will be around £5000+. So they written it off and probz going to give me a £3000 paycheck.
I mentioned to them, that I do not want to give the car. They said thats ok, if I pay the breakers/Scrapyard £1000+.
I can get the parts cheaper and get an independent garage company to repair it for like £3000 max. Agreed?
Do you think, if I reject the paycheck, keep the car. That they will pay out a proportion of that for me to repair it? Because the insurers do owe me anyhow....

Whats best option moving forward.

Go get some quotes to get it repaired, try and find a shop that knows BMW, as other pointed there could be other parts which are damaged or knocked out of whack and it could add up fast. My experience has been, it is not the parts but the paint and labor which add up fast on non mechanical type damage, if you have to start replace steering and suspension parts as well as engine part those get costly.

In the US if you pay the shop cash they usually cut you a good deal specially if they do not have to deal with insurance.

I just checked out, if I repair it from independent garage, I can buy the parts for like £1000 max, and then they can repair it. Thats certainly the most effective and cheapest option

That damage really doesn't look too bad. I can't imagine that costing more than 5000 for parts and labor. Good luck! i would fix it myself.
