I had a similar issue..
Oiginally my Software didnt work on any of the com ports either I found new Drivers for my Serial Cable USB thing online and updated them. After that i checked in the device manager the com numbers.. Be aware only one of my USB ports works the other 3 get no connection to the procede reader.. and the com my device manager stated is 9 although it connects on 10.. wierd In other words.. Update the serial cable software Try all your USB ports on the computer Try all com ports.. ONE will work.. It took me 30min to find the right one but i did.. |

The ignition is NOT on. Keyfob inserted and radio on doesn't mean ignition on.
I had the same problem with my v2. The radio, i-drive, and all accessories can be on and working without the ignition on. You will only get 100mv to that orange wire if all you did was insert the keyfob. With the fob inserted, tap the start button twice. That will turn ignition on. All of your icon lights should be lit to indicate the switch. Dustin added that if you have a 6MT, you can also hold the start button on with the car in-gear (scary) to get the same result. Vishnu - please add this to the instructions because it is not a mode normally used. Last edited by zenmaster; 11-14-2007 at 08:46 AM.. |

Just trying to clear it up: not only the keyfob has to be in the car, but the Start button has to be pressed without depressing the brake (the radio gets on even if you don't press Start button), so all the lights on the dashboard go on.

Sounds like a power problem. I could not get power with just the key fob in. I ended up connecting the harness into the 50 amp fuse long enough to load the firm/software then reconfigured it back to switched power.

Not sure on a 6spd, but with the step you push the start button twice to
get ignition on. I have comfort access and had to put the key in the dash to keep the car from going to sleep. |

Thanks for all the help guys, I didn't know that about the ignition so I'll try that out today.

it is the same on a 6spd with comfort access, it won't start unless the clutch in pressed instead of the brake like on the step
