Stainless can rust, depends on the grade. My other car is an FX and Stillen exhausts for that application rust quite frequently. It's stainless and $1K+ so it's not just cheap exhausts. It's just surface rust though, I've never seen a SS part fully rust through.
The quality control on cheap parts is hit or miss; well there really isn't any quality control at that price, it gets made, then shipped out, I doubt anyone looks at it. But if you can DIY the install, it's not such a huge deal, if it cracks pull it. But if you're paying for labor, just spend a little more. The price difference is less than the cost to pull/reinstall so if it cracks even once you've lost money vs. buying another brand. I've had good experiences with similar type products back in the day, but other people had terrible experiences with the exact same part so it's definitely hit or miss. Quote:

I agree that the price is good. I would rather replace twice in ownership of car than pay vrsf price.
Quality is one thing, but high grade stainless tubing is cheap, a jig to make part using shape of stock pipe is also cheap. |

As long as the part in question isn't dangerous if it fails or isn't too hard to install.
