Enjoy the trip and stay safe lads.

Here`s a lap onboard a rental 1.6 Astra from last weekend, me driving and one of the mods from BMWland (Mystic Sport) in the pax seat. Eventually cracked the 10min BTG time with a clear lap.

The hire car also did a full day at SPA on the Monday, with no problems. 300 Track miles in total over the weekend.

Mine`s still not ready Will, so I hired one instead of killing the Mondeo or her 1er.

Didn`t take any pics this trip but there`s a few from Jochen and the guy at SPA.

Dent on the bonnet was there before I got the car.

No difference to crashing any car at the `Ring Carl (it gets very expensive, very quickly but the Astra was only worth 10Kish tops). Suprisingly the hire agreement did not specifically exclude the Nurburgring and I took the zero insurance excess option.

Dang! Nobody said anything about the suction cups on the tires for that vertical climb.

£229, open pit lane. Was organised by the Mitsubishi Lancer Register, which worried me a little at first but I can honestly say it was the most proffesionally run day I`ve ever been to.

`au Rouge was the fastest part in the Astra, flat out without lifting at 110.

Jesus... WTF has gone off in here !

Anyway, new day... new start chaps. Back OT please.

For those of you going, you've only got 3/4 days to get your cars all sorted and packed

My checklist is:
> Passport, Driving Licence, Green Card, Euro Mapbook, Copy V5, Hotel & Crossing booking details
> 2x TyreWeld, 2x Hi-Vis Vests, 1l TWS Engine Oil, 0.5l Screen Wash, Drying Cloth (for after local jet wash)
> Helmet, Driving Boots

Roll on Friday

Jeez - someone is very prepared!!!! TWO high vis vests??? You big gimp!!!

Oh and Paulie, me and Carlos spent an hour trying to work out how to use the local jet wash last trip - ended up with me stealing an old bucket with a dead rat in it from a petrol station so that we could wash our cars back at the hotel - nightmare!!!! Funny though!!

I thin the official term is "Carlothian" Steve... don't think any spell checkers can help him either...

OT. Just ordered a DOGCAM 520 that I'm hoping to get mounted to the car "invisably" to record my laps. Probably going to mount it either in one of the front air scoops up out the way or behind the rear bumper grill. I'm a scaredy cat so it will be hidden VERY well! Will then record the footage on an Archos PVR.

NOT EXCITED IN THE SLIGHTEST !

I can't bloody wait either! Is Koblenz the nearest town to check a forecast?

http://www.weather.com/outlook/trave...yLink_business

Biscuits - was looking to get a dogcam myself but realised my video camera doesn't have an AV input so might just have to borrow yours for a lap!! Was thinking of mounting it under my rear centre headrest with the camera in the boot to get some incar action footage!

Hahaha - I've just had delivered a Sony HAD cam from Dogcam too - going in the passenger-side blanking plate next to the fog light, and into a solid-state hi-def recorder...!! Lots of work to do before the weekend - working all hours of the day at the moment!!! Just had the boost control valves replaced in my car as well as I was getting a couple of boost spikes. Valves were on their way out! Going like stink now though. Race pads being swapped in on Thursday!
