Hi
I recently pulled out my JB4 which I was running with MHD and BEF. I have been really impressed with the drivability of the MHD tune without the JB4. Also (and I am not sure if this is even possible), the xHP flash seems to be more effective without JB4 (crisper changes in Sport Mode). But...I am now getting 30FF errors. I suspect that the JB4 may have been masking an issue due to the way it has an adaptive tune. Either I have a boost issue (boost leak, vacuum issue, boost solenoid issue) or the target curve is too aggressive. https://datazap.me/u/aussieatlarge/b...og=0&data=3-20 Stock Turbos BMS DCI VRSF DP BMS Charge Pipe Tial BOV BMS vacuum adaptor Helix 5" Stepped Intercooler |

Follow this guide to resolve 30FF code... It's likely you have a boost leak, start with vacuum lines (cheapest) and check all your connection points including charge pipe bov etc https://bmwtuning.co/bmw-n54-30ff-en...-repair-guide/ |

Probably a boost leak for me. Just between the shift, your BOV release pressure, when pressure come back, sensor quickly shows a good pressure for a very short moment, then it starts leaking again as the pressure don't hold and leak somewhere in your piping. For the reason above i think you should check big pipings first (chargepipe, intercooler, BOV also spring), and if you found nothing, check/replace vacuum lines (cheap) and finally boost solenoids.

Sorry but maybe i am wrong speaking about the spring.. I don't have a BOV, i have Forge DVs, and the way it's installed, any spring force (differents colors) should not create a boost leak problem on WOT cause pressure+spring maintain it closed anyway. The spring color choice is more like for other situations than WOT. Lighter spring will release boost easier/faster on let off. I don't know if the TIAL BOV works that way too (aka if spring works in cooperation with pressure) but if it's the case, the spring is not your problem. That said, maybe it has a gasket or something inside?

Hey guys, quick question about MHD stage 1 91 vs 93. So I've tested the stage 1 91 map with 91 fuel as well as 93 map with 94 fuel. For some reason I'm getting less boost on the 93 map. Is this normal and should this be expected? I was getting close to 15psi on the 91 map and just under 13.7ish on the 93 map. The graphs in question:
93 Map: https://datazap.me/u/jinjja/stage-1-...og=2&data=3-22 91 Map: https://datazap.me/u/jinjja/stage-1-...og=1&data=3-22 |

93 oct map has higher timing, less boost required (more power than 91 Oct map) 91 oct map has higher boost but less timing, Your also almost completely on target, so it looks good. |

Oh, thats good to hear then! I thought 93 was getting less power cause less boost, but that makes sense. Thank you very much!

Higher the octane rating, higher the power (assuming the car is running fine with correct supporting mods etc) E85 maps give the highest power/torque respectively, 93oct is good though. |

If you suspect your TIAL BOV, maybe check if there is a o ring gasket between TIAL and CP, or check clamps and so on. Let us know if you found something.

Which means that whenever there is more vacuum in the manifold than at idle, the BOV will open. Which would explain the whistle when driving gently. I am sure that i read somewhere that this was by design to keep the turbo spooling for fast response when you suddenly nail it. Of course i still need to look for the leak. |

On stock DV you can't see or hear it cause there are the return hoses, but it's open and hissing at idle and when cruising to keep turbos spooled a bit for faster response. Synapse BOV does this too and is even open at idle : (not sure with TIAL but it should work more or less the same)

Hey everyone
Car 2011 335i FBO Stock turbos 3.5 bar map New boost solenoid, spark plugs, hpfp, stage 2 lpfp and vacuum lines are good Can’t figure out what’s wrong with my car when I run stage 2+ 91oct. Looks like the boost build is slow not meeting req. boost levels and then overboosting req. levels to 26.5lbs!!?? Few other things but that stuck out the most. I also attached stock map 0 and it looks better. Is there something I should be looking at or is it just the tune? Any help is appreciated By the way I’m in Denver so 5280ft elevation Thanks https://datazap.me/u/mengkmoua/stock...og=0&data=4-15 https://datazap.me/u/mengkmoua/stg-2...og=0&data=4-15 |
