when it comes to lease you have to consider the total amount you pay for the entire deal so that is down payment + monthly x number of months.

so doesnt matter if you pay up front in a down payment or you factor that in the monthly payments, you're still paying the same amount.

what matters in a lease is 2 things: 1. residual value of the car, 2. money factor which translates into interest.

residual value you cannot do anything about, it's set by the bank (whether is BMWFS, US bank, Wells fargo, whatever). Money factor you can drop by putting multiple security deposit (i.e. lend the bank some money, for a couple of years then take it back)

for us what fucked up the deal on the M3 is BMWFS has put very low residuals on the car (53%) where it should be 58% or 60%.

The sad part is all other banks did not announce their own residual value, so i cannot get a quote from an independent bank like US bank or wells fargo.

markup is a pure theft by the dealer, he just says give ME to my pocket 30,000 and i'll give you the car. that's all.

also, dealers get a share of the "interest" or money factor, so the dealer might increase that, and i think this is how he gave me the 1300+ without tax. that's a M5 payment without discounts, example

i see, so for now all independent banks are still depends on BMW's residual value announced.....so the payments are all about the same???

how come the residual value of the M3 is so low???

i remember when my friend financed the S2K....the interest negotiated and the one printed on the paper was different...they typed 1% less than negotiated....but the monthly payment is the same....

in that terms....the dealership earn 1% less profit from the payment to Honda Finance....rite???

no, each bank announces their own residual. right now ONLY bmwfs (which is like a bank) announced a residual.
they set it low coz they know the car is hot, and will sell, so they want more money out of you (or me in this instance )

yah in a year it'll drop down significantly.

but my problem right now is if i forget the M3, i have no fucking clue what to get. I dont want to go back to 335, sway bars, body kit, wheels, drop, downpipes and all that bullshit and deal with vendors and their BS. im so over that car right now. even if i get it i dont think i'll enjoy it again.

and i have nothing else in mind so im screwed

yea....somehow....
let's say the monthly was 600 bucks....and the interest was 5.9%
but on the offical paperwork was 4.9%....

and we suspect Honda Finance was having something 3.5-4% interest....so the dealership earn less interest...i guess....
