Great new location shoot Socks. FWIW I reckon the stance is just right with the spacers you have now. I hope you can eliminate any of the rubbing and stay with the setup as it is
![]() As for the wheels, you mentioned the specs are: 19 x 8.5 (running 235/35) fronts, 19 x 9.5 (running 265/30) rears. Do you have any idea what the offsets are??

Forgot if you're still running jb4, but if I remember correctly - that needs a special harness?

Mod 26 - 5 mm spacers all round
Finally fitted 5mm spacers on both fronts and backs to fill out the new rims and rubber. No rubbing except on full lock up front and on big bumps. Rims sit nice and flush with the guards with the top of the tyre curving under the guard to give a few mm clearance. Pretty happy with the end result... Misplaced spare key so ordered a blank fob for $104 from
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301299679...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Took 7 days from order to delivery Fob arrived today. Safely packed in padded satchel and anti-static bag Fob identical to the OEM one, in weight, finish and build quality Complete with battery, transponder and chip, and blank slide out key Included little BMW logo to stick onto the button. Backing glue was pretty weak so used a spot of glue to stick it in place Ill get it coded at the local locksmith and report back ![]() Last edited by Socket; 09-04-2015 at 07:58 AM.. |

Mod 27 - M3 Ducts
The ducts supplied with the M3 rep front, have stepped sides which just didn't look clean. Great news is the mouth of the ducts on the M3 rep front and the real M3 front are the same size. InQ and Enis were busy today, so decided to DIM using the link DrJ posted ![]() Took me most of the day, because I had to take off the front wheels to get the fender lining off. Just isn't any room in the wheel well, with the new wheels, plus lots of trimming and lots time figuring out how to mount the ducts... End up being a great fit and +100 for the improved look and functionality Pic 1 - Before, Notice the stepped sides of the ducts ![]() Pic 2 - After, Notice the clean, smooth lines ![]() Pic 3 - Drivers side ducts, M3 on the left, M3 rep on the right Pic 4 - Passenger side ducts, M3 on the left, M3 rep on the right Pic 5 - 3 hrs in and the bumper is off ![]() Pic 6 - Trimming in progress Pic 7 & 8 - Left and right ducts glued in place Last edited by Socket; 09-07-2015 at 06:29 AM.. |

Few more notes for peps who may be considering a duct transplant
Not only do the ducts look cleaner but the drivers side duct can be trimmed to direct air onto the oil cooler The M3 rep ducts tapered into a small hole which directed air into the wheel well The new ducts should at least drop the oil temp by at least 35C (maybe) Pic 1 - Close up of finished passenger side duct Pic 2 - Close up of finished drivers side duct Pic 3 - Close up of M3 rep drivers side duct, notice the duct tapering to a small hole Pic 4 - M3 rep duct where it would normally sit in front of the oil cooler with bumper on Pic 5 - M3 duct in comparison, notice how the duct covers the oil cooler Pic 6 - Looking up inside the finished drivers side duct, oil cooler now gets fresh air ![]() Last edited by Socket; 09-06-2015 at 08:11 AM.. |

M3 ducts looking good!
![]() Quote:
Most of these alarms aren't sophisticated, they are wired in series with the starter and ignition wires. Unfortunately most 'professional' installs just cut into your loom, wire it to the alarm controller and electrical tape everything up. Yuck. You can buy any BMW connector and pins (they all have part numbers) and make your own retrofit harnesses WITHOUT cutting anything. Wiring diagrams are all out there on the interwebs too. My old car had an aftermarket alarm from the previous owner and that was such a shit job removing it and seeing how 'professional' the install was. I'd be happy to help you out if you wanna DIY it, can walk you though the wiring diagrams and stuff if you need.
