yeah but obviously % drop a bit when you're dealing with less money to negotiate with. I was seriously in the market in 08 for one of these and I found a few great deals on a few. All 04-05, all 50k or less and all nicely equipped - some with a few light mods. Then they were right around $20k. almost 3 yrs later they should have dropped to about $15k or less with consistent mileage and in good cosmetic/mechanical condition.

actually no, love classics but this thing is an Australian oversized Cavalier with a Corvette engine. They suck gas like Al sucks... well you know, and they break down all the fucking time.

Best friend leased one, the 6.0 and it was always in for repair, was fugly as shit and honestly, as fast as it is in a straight line, it corners for shit (not that most muscle cars don't). Save your wallet at the pump, totally not worth it, especially with gas expected to hit $5/gal in 2012.

Is there any one else I can go to besides doing the installation myself?

P.S. the service manager claims this retrofit need recoding even though the installation manual clearly states it doesn't. Thus I'm a bit wary of the information I've been provided by.
You can have VS do the retrofiting for a factory unit, and 425 seems right seeing how much work will go into installing one, If you can do it yourself you can do it and vs could code it if necessary

ah cuz what would be the difference in payment monthly between $15k and say $20k (assuming thats what you owe) like $100/month (8% @60 month estimate)

All said and done (warranty etc) I financed just under 27 for 48mos...so the payments are based on that...so the difference for a 14k car would be significant enough for me to go after assuming I could make it work...probably a 50/50 shot at this point but we'll see how it goes and talking to the parents etc...

Thank everyone who replied so promptly. I'll contact Matt at VS.

mkPOTO: I would be ok with $425 if it's for the factory unit, but unfortunately this isn't. This a license plate holder that has PDC and according to the manual, it's a 1.5-2hrs install.
