Will cobb address this issue when the maps come out of beta? I have a log, will try to post later, of the drive map on v4 vs v3. I will have to figure those out. (its 2nd vs 3rd gear but still, 13.2psi max on v3 and 14's being held on v4, big difference)
Boosting too high according to what? Are you overshooting target boost or is it your preference not to run the target boost?

I use the linear maps on my 6AT with no problems at all. Although I do drive in manual mode 99% of the time.

Not comfortable with that much boost out of the "conservative" map. Especially when the v3.01 was about right. Now on v4.01 there almost isn't a difference between drive and sport. I was far more comfortable running the lower boost of the drive map but when 90% of my commute is highway, v4.01 is the way to go (got 31mpg this morning)

I was just hoping they would keep the parameters nearly identical but lower the boost since it is supposed to be a conservative map.

I just mean that the alternative throttle maps are for manual transmission cars. Our options are ST (stock throttle) or LT (linear throttle). If you have an auto, don't pick the alt throttle maps.

I've found an 85/15 mix of 93/E85 did wonders for my timing. Maybe after downpipes and IC i'll get a pro tune done and post results, wont be for a while though.

13-14psi is well within the effeciency of the stock turbos(especially in the mid range) even at your altitude. I've been running 18+psi for several months now with zero ill effects(as have hundreds of other people.) So you'll be fine.

Yep. I change my mixture trying new things but got codes with about a 25-30% mix of e85 so i backed down a bit. I get 0 timing corrections and my timing curve is MUCH more aggressive than the OTS maps. Car feels great.

For anyone interested, here is what I saw in my logs before and after E85. The 2 93oct only pulls were actually much cleaner than a majority of my pulls as far as timing went, so the difference might be understated.

Edit: realized why those two logs looked better, they were from octane booster testing. Corrected descriptions and added one from just 93 shell vpower.

Well, I know many people that have had their turbos start to make the siren noise after running too much boost. That is my concern. I do notice on the logs that the boost tapers well towards the end and I can certainly feel the car slow down after 6000rpm.

I just wanted to err on the side of caution, however, I know having a tune does not do that. Just looking for a stouter DD that will last me a long long time before I "have" to buy upgraded turbo's. I do like what the cobb has offered so far though. Smooth, responsive, easy to use, etc.

Yeah, I understand your POV. Unforutnately, the stock turbos seem to be very hit or miss. I figure, run it till it untill something breaks and then upgrade and move on. Different strokes for different folks.

How easily/quickly does E85 dilute with E10 93-octane during a fillup?

From an empty tank, how much E85 do you usually pump in before topping off the rest with 93?

What stations offer E85 in Dallas? Availability seems scarce up in N.Dallas/Plano.

I took the log about 3-4 minutes after topping off, and about 2 city miles down the road. I'm assuming it mixed in well enough at that point.

I've only topped off 2 tanks with e85. Both times I was filling from the 2nd hash from E on the gas gauge. I put in 11 gallons of 93 octane which left room for 2.5 and 2.59 gallons of E85 before I was full. I was aiming for no more than 20% and ended up with 15-16% which was enough for me. I'll know how it affected my MPG after this tank runs out.

I've only seen one station in Plano, it was listed on this site here: http://e85refueling.com/
There are some scattered around the metroplex, the one I've used was in Carrollton off Hebron and Old Denton.

I ran a full tank of just 93 after both the octane booster and the first 93/E85 mix.
I don't plan on running this long term, I just wanted to see the difference for myself.

The next big thing on the N54 platform is gonna be Shiv/Vishnu's single-turbo application. They've been posting on threads, videos & dyno sheets showing 600 WHP+. A lot of people are running after it and have been dumping things like their downpipes + RB turbos so they can buy the single-turbo kit the second it goes on sale.

I'm just ready to put in my FMIC + DPs so I'm ready the minute COBB releases the non-beta Stage 2 + FMIC Maps

Yeaaaa dude, I mean I can't even run the V3 maps since my DPs are in the mail & I'm buying the FMIC in the next week or so -- REALLY hoping to have it all on and the new maps by the end of May

The only thing the other tunes really have are no lift shifting and 2 step launch control. Both of which will be implemented by Cobb eventually. There is a lot of buzz around shiv's single turbo, but to be honest, it's a dissapointment. There are a lot of people on here that seem to ignore all the shortcomings/failures of the kit. Either that or they're experience with modifying cars is limited only to this platform and they don't know a whole lot.

Im specifically referring to the fact that cobb doesn't have race maps released so we can't run race gas, meth, or E85 unlike the other major tunes....

Can you elaborate? What are the disadvantages to his single turbo?

Not trolling, genuinely curious.
