I am thinking next summer I am going to convert my newly acquired 2012 auto RWD with only 47,000 miles and the right equipment (Sports seats, right wheels, adaptive lights, comfort access). I might have gotten the only good deal from CarMax in CarMax history!

I can't figure this car out - very pretty, not super high miles, price within reason - what's up? I know I keep sharing it because Ebay keeps reminding me it is for sale :-) The seller has a high positive rating.

Hmmmm.....https://www.ebay.com/i/264960727231?ul_noapp=true

I agree, they seem to move a lot of metal.

Wrt the driveshaft: we only had an issue with it because it was sourced from a 330i.
Hah! I was just reviewing that video this morning. The best I have seen so far on doing these swaps. Thanks for the comment on the 330i driveshaft -- helps to understand some of the problems that can be encountered.

One advantage if you use the 330i driveshaft (and weird flex disc) is that you can use the diff which has something like a 3.64 ratio. Stock options for the regular 328i setup are 3.23 from the 6MT and 3.73 from the auto.

Sounds about right. I figure it’s around $10k give or take for a LCI facelift swap and 6MT swap. You can save money if you do work yourself for sure. My pre-LCI sounds like a similar car to yours. Full records and sport/xenon car.

I possessed this car for a few days in 2017. I was skeptical buying a VA car from a wholesaler (one that I've had bad luck with in the past), but hey...Alpine/Saddle/Msport...I took a chance. Plenty of rust on this car, but nothing that made it unsafe - nuts/bolts/control arms/surface stuff. The body damage was minimal, limited to paintwork on the front bumper and r/r quarter panel. It had a good bit of deferred maintenance. The last owner must have stopped loving it. Multiple codes and all the oil leaks. My mechanic warned of a possible wiped cam or VANOS bolts backed out. Oil was dark as night. The wheels were curbed badly. Tires were old and chunked. Surprisingly, it drove well. I returned the car. For the price I paid, the car was asking for too much to make it right.

It's still an Alpine/Saddle/Msport. Looks like it went to Los Gatos, lot's of great BMW indy shops in that area. Maybe all the neglect was addressed. Might be a great driver, for the right price. Anyone interested in being the next owner, get a PPI.

Good looking out. I never trust a car that has such a shiny greased up steering wheel haha

On the fence about selling my 2007 E91 MT6sp 328xi

Hi all,
This is my second Unicorn, the first one was a 2006 E91 6sp that starred in a couple FCP Euro maintenance videos. I sold that one on the first day for full price and used the funds to buy my 2007 which I have owned for about 5 years now. It was originally a BMW exec car, sold to the first owner in NJ from Park Ave BMW and then I bought it and took it to CT. Lots of warranty work has been done on the car, water pump/t-stat, etc.. I have replaced the front drive shaft, right front CV and bearing, changed the plugs, coil packs, washer bottle.. The car is my DD and I love the power and comfort. I have a 1 1/4 receiver hitch on it for bringing my MTB and gravel bikes on trips with me. There is currently 129k on the clock, no codes but some scratches to the rear bumper and lower plastic valance, minor dings, (I bought it that way) AC blows cold, uses a qt of oil every 4000 miles (that's when I change the oil anyway). I would like to find a later E91 but the prices are ridiculous. I may need to wait another 10 years before I can get a Eurospec model.
Anyway enough of the rant, I am planning to buy a different car and will need to sell this one once that is done. Any interest I am located in Fairfield county CT.

Here is a post I did awhile back https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...4#post20054834

Any conversion is very costly to do it right. I bought a rwd/6 base wagon. I have about $11k just in m sport conversion and other aesthetics, granted I used all OEM parts and bought most new:
Bumpers and rockers $3k
Xenons $2k
Euro alcantara seats and door panels and headliner $3500 with shipping from europe
Wheels $2k
Steering wheel/ airbag $700
Door sills $300

On top of buying the car for over $20k all in, granted low mileage and 1 prior owner. In hindsight I would have been better off buying a factory msport from EAG two years ago for $35k!

That's not nearly as fun if you buy a car that's already done though!!

The headliner and wheels add a ton of expense. Did you buy the alcantara seats from Schmeidmann? If I go down the rabbit hole with my pre-LCI, I can luckily borrow the Style 194s and old front bumper from my M Sport.

In any case, not a money making venture.

Agree the build has been fun and makes it more special in the end. I did buy that set from them. Still working through a few wrinkles in that the set was from pre-lci and my car is lci. So airbag sensor and headrest restraints throwing code and the heated seat pad requires a pin tweak. But will be very worth it when done

I want to make a build thread but here are a few teasers.

Looks great! Glad they ended up with someone in this thread. Hopefully the shipping was a bit more reasonable to the east coast.
