All I have is a muffler delete, went ahead and turned both settings to the max and I get very pronounced burbles and cracks in the higher rpms. The warmer the car the more intense it is. I have an e60 btw...

Love it when you're rolling downhill, put your foot on the brake just a little so the car jumps to 3000rpms and then just little touches on throttle, music to my ears hahaha

FYI - the new beta version of MHD has an exhaust burrble option. You are able to set aggressiveness and duration of the burrbles

Not quite as simple as that.

Some have manufacturers warranty on the car and don't want grief at dealer visits. Some people use their cars for work and have jobs where they need to seem professional and not turn up with flames shooting out the back and others live in places where yearly tests are carried out which include CO2 emissions and noise restrictions along with rules which prevent modification to any emissions relation component of the car.

LOL!!!

Want a simple solution? Don't modify..

You do know it's a flash and reversible right?

You said that people with stock exhaust systems should punch themselves in the face.

I explained why some people have stock exhaust systems.

I'm completely confused by your reply. My point is exactly that. Flashes are reversible and can be taken off for inspections, changing your exhaust system is a little more involved

Muffler delete, full stock exhaust besides that.

Vid shows hard for 3 seconds.

I later changed it to medium for 1 second. It still crackles above 4K but not as much.

For people saying they don't notice it: are you driving a manual or auto? If auto, put into sport or manual mode and go up to 3-4k rpm and let off, you will def notice something. You can also put it in manual mode and just down shift to 3-4k rpm when off the gas and you will here it again.

Also, unplug the muffler flap actuator in the trunk, it makes a very large difference.

Here are the instructions/pics from the post about how to do this here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80661

Burbles and bass really, If I go up to "hard" on the aggressive scale I start getting the extremely loud cracks (I'm personally not a fan of, but a lot of people love it) so for me the "medium" at 2 seconds is great.

1-2 seconds at max aggressiveness sounds great when you are wot at high rpm and let off. Not enough time to sound ricey, but just enough to make it sound like it means business.

Golf tee, flapper, whatever mod makes the difference for some reason. I have all my cats and get crackles and pops and burbles all together

Sounds like a jaguar f type with aftermarket exhaust.

Now my neighborhood wishes I'd eat a bag of dicks...

Completely stock except I deleted the flapper side muffler. E60 has two mufflers side by side, one is pretty much silent other is flow through and only in use when the flapper is open. So I put a dummy pipe in where that muffler was. When the flap is open... Muffler delete... When its closed... stock exhaust ... I keep meaning to put a switch on it but I pretty much just leave it open all the time anyway.

For those that upgraded their stock exhaust and make under 500-600whp you just pissed money away for sound and gained no power, please punch yourself in the face.

I've been on loads of car forums over the years, and this is by far the most bitchy. Seriously.

Only if you went VRSF or Corsa afaik. I think all the duals weigh about the same as stock. The single pipe is where the weight savings are and the single muffler.

I actually like the stock exhaust on the E90s or even the PE. It sounds good enough imo. I've had loud aftermarket exhausts for the last 13-14 years. I'm tired of the unneeded noise, attention from cops, and the tickets aftermarket exhausts brings vs. the negligible performance gains.

Saying you should punch yourself in the face is stupid.

I'm so confused by your comments.

Am I just not hearing the sarcasm through the internetsss? Can't which one of these you are serious about, or is it both and you just flipped on your own statement? This whole thread is about exhaust note for the sake of exhaust note, if you're too lofty and evolved to enjoy that anymore then why are you here?

Feel free to consider all of those questions rhetorical...

I make under 600whp.
I upgraded exhaust for weight savings and to prep for the single turbo coming 1st quarter of 2017 I'll just add a custom Y pipe so I can keep my dual exhaust look but mate to the single turbo.
But I do see your point.
