I have recently purchased a very early UK E90 Jan 05 built 330i with 106k miles.
As far as I can tell, according to the maintenance history the car has had no major work done on it in the past. It has a few minor issues: 1) On cold start up it sounds like something in the exhaust is rattling, the noise disappears as soon as you start driving. 2) On cold start up when turning the wheel there is a minor screeching like sound. I suspect it has something to do with the power steering or the Active Steering option that the car has. 3) The coolant temp on 10 mile fairly free flowing trips seems to alternate between about 78c and 85c. As soon as the temp reaches 85c, it immediately starts dropping back to 78c and repeats this cycle. Further testing is required, but it looks like a new thermostat will be required. |

almost 106k, car has no issues
maintenance will be done next week just because NGK plugs, Delphi coil packs, belts, Pierburg waterpump, Mishimoto t-stat, power steering fluid (drain/fill), transmission fluid (drain/fill), oil change then in November, going with all TRW M3 front/rear suspension bits, replace engine/transmission mount, Lemforder tie rods |

Just hit 93k. Good news is that the P0004 code that came on when I bought the car has seemed to disappear! It used to come on when the trip meter hit 200 or 300 miles without fail. The past 2 times I reset it, I let it go for 900 miles with no SEL! Ahhhh feels so good driving the car with no lights on the dash (except for fog lights of course lol)

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

94k. Just scanned it and got
P1447: Diagnostic Module Tank Leakage Pump Too High During Switching P1449: Diagnostic Module Tank Leakage Pump Too High I just ordered the DMTL pump and a new grommet for $70 on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=A39702CCOVJH2 Hopefully this will clear the codes and tbh any repair less than $100 is a gift from the BMW gods. Since I gotta remove the rear passenger tire when i replace it, I might as well rotate the tires while I'm at it.
