My car was getting timing pulls on COBB Stage 2+ Aggressive even though local stations advertise 93. On the same gas, Stage 2+ Sport (91 octane map) is clean with no timing pulls at all.

The same gas with some off the shelf octane boosters produces clean timing graphs on 93 aggressive.

So I'm wondering, is the gas around here just that bad a quality of 93 octane? or is it possible there is another issue that may be causing the timing pulls on said "93 octane"... maybe carbon build up or slight mis-fires that don't throw codes?

Not sure who you're buying from, but buy your gas (if possible) from a Top Tier Gasoline Retailer (http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers.html). The gas stations listed here are held to a standard that ensures the quality of the octane is legit, regardless of where you're buying it from.

i buy from shell and chevron mainly and they both give me the same results. so thats why i ask if it could be my car?

Well since both are on the Top Tier Retailer list, and you're buying 93 at both, I'd say it's one of two things:

1. One of those gas stations has a shitty tank that's allowing contaminents to diminish the quality of the 93
2. Your car

I'd try running the 93 from one station for a week consistently, and then try the other -- See if one's 93 is actually better than the other's. Otherwise, when was the last time you changed your fuel injectors? It's interesting that even though you're using 93 consistently, that the octane booster (which doesn't yield a significant increase in octane rating) helped your car run better.

That's odd. Just to cover the basics, when was the last time you changed your plugs?
How bad are the timing drops? Every once in a while, I'll have a couple cylinders make a correction. If just one or two cylinders make a -3 correction it's not a big deal.
I remember you posting logs up before, but I'm sorry I can't remember how they looked.

exactly, which is why im starting to think it is my car. but i just dont know what it could be... my injectors were checked and some replaced last august during the recall for the hpfp.

changed plugs like 8k miles ago... swapped out with oem.

and the drops were badd haha they look knock induced... consistent pulls in the same place/same cylinders across multiple cylinders. and usually 3-4 degrees drops... never had clean timing produced on any gas in my area ever haha

If you're having timing corrections you could try starting at a15% mix and working your way up until your timing corrections are gone.

No timing issues, I'm just wondering since E85 offers performance gains similar to 100 octane, but is less expensive then 93/100 octanes + doesn't require that you run meth. Guess we're just all waiting on those new maps now.

If you have access to e85 you can always get an ATP tune. However, since you don't have any bolt-ons you can't really push it to its potential.
