true, but the average customer of the macbook air is most likley not going to have a MBP or even another laptop for that matter. They need a laptop that has everything built in. Portability is one thing, but i still need the extra functions!!! and for the price...man, i'd probably get a regular macbook for that matter. 13.3 and its not that big at all. definetly just as portable!

I know...if I already owned a MBP and was looking for something lighter...I would go for it.

But, I dunno...as my main computer. It may not be any better than a macbook with regards to performance and memory. Only big benefit is cosmesis and 3 lbs lighter.

I dunno...I am torn.

I may have to wait until the 15" MBP is finally updated and decide then.

the macbook air for some users will be their primary (though i don't see why).... but for most will be a second puter....

For me....I would have loved to have the old 12" Powerbook...updated to today's specs. Its the perfect size for what I need.

When they stopped making it...and came out with 13.3"...I held back, because I did not like the black/white plastic. I wanted the metal look. So, even though this one is thinner....it is still 13.3.
