Looks great, I've been meaning to pick one up. Where did you get yours and how's the weave in the carbon?

Also it's time to update that signature.

Does anyone know if our car has a "Servotronic", and would it be difficult to swap over a M3 rack?

Got it from emotors2000. I did not go for the carbon fiber because I don't like the style. I went for jet black, cause in my opinion it matches better all the black accents on the car. It is not perfect, at some angles you can see some details, if you really look for them. Given that it was $88 shipped, I can look past that without remorse.

Yes, time to update the signature!!!

IS peeps...any of you guys have a Cobb tune? I am thinking I might want a little extra kick.

I do NOT want JB4 or MHD. I already have the Cobb but haven't flashed it yet. I shall not be wiring a JB4 into this car, and I've read mixed things on MHD. For now, I am sticking with Cobb...if I flash at all. JB4/MHD lovers need not reply.

My question is, if I am only doing a Stage 1+ aggressive tune, will it be THAT much different than a stock IS? I don't want to be switching out parts, adding bolt ons, etc. I've been there and its not where I want to go with this car. Just want a little extra, even if its mostly in the torque department.

Anyone?

My IS isn't tuned so I'm not sure what the Cobb tune feels like on our cars. When I was looking at possible tunes for mine I looked at Cobb but was wondering why the gains for just a flash were smaller than the 335i's. I always forget that our IS's are already tuned for that extra 20hp. So when they say you're only get 8% gains versus 30% with 335i's it may or may not feel like a lot. I was looking at Cobb because I don't have huge hp goals. I like the ease of a flash, easy to remove and update. I kinda feel a little peace at mind that their tunes provide slightly less hp than competitors just so it's a little less wear on the n54 and dct which I know is very capable of handling. However, I heard combining jb4 and mhd gives best of both worlds. If you have a dct I also heard you can do more with mhd to better suit the dct.

Erm I thought you lucky guys across the pond who got the 335is all had the PE fitted from the factory? According to Wikki:

'...the 335is is equipped with a revised, high-flow exhaust system, with the twin exhaust pipes finished in matte black...'

It's not as loud as a BMW performance but it's louder than a oem exhaust. I think the iS has higher flowing cats from oem also.

The Cobb Stage 1+ Aggressive is a huge step up from stock. You will never go back! Make sure you upgrade your charge pipe and install new plugs. You will need a larger intercooler.
If you want to take it a step further and be very safe, reliable, have it protuned.

Just do the golf tee mod, no need for PE.
It makes the IS exhaust slightly louder and more aggressive sounding.

With Stage 1+ Aggressive and Cobb intercooler, protune by Jake at Motiv, I went from 300hp/322tq to 370hp/400tq at the wheels. Every car will be a little different. I had my car walnut blasted, new plugs installed prior to tuning.
Have been very happy with it for years. Then added LSD, catted DP's now at Cobb Stage 2+ Aggressive. Car is very fast.
With the Stage 1+ Aggressive tune I was beating M4's at the track.

I had BMW PE on my 2011 335i. It's pretty much just fantastic. People asked me all the time what exhaust it was.

When I got into my 335is I incorrectly assumed the stock exhaust on the 335is was the BMW PE and it clearly is not. Wish the OEM exhaust was a little louder because I paid all cash for my car and I don't have a dollar to spare on anything else right now! Oh well

Just do the golf tee mod, no need for PE.
It makes the IS exhaust slightly louder and more aggressive sounding.
Did the golf tee mod not aggressive enough. That's why I wanted someones review on the iS.

Yah the iS exhaust sounds great, just needs to be a little louder.

Curb rash improvement.

Before paying someone $250 to take care of the curb rash the previous owner left in two wheels, I decided to give it a try. I bought the materials to wet sand the wheels. Used 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3,000. Then I polished them. They are not perfect, but came out very well!!!

Great work! I tried my own hand at fixing some curb rash on my 1er a while back with similar results. No curb rash on the IS for now (knock on wood).

Also, I like the look of the slightly wider stance you now have. I haven't added spacers to mine for fear of rubbing. Potholes in Seattle are horrendous. Also, when I look at my stock height rears, there looks to be little room between the tires and the arc of the fender. The fronts on the on the other hand appear to have a much wider gap. Not digging on that look...

Thanks. IF you have the 18" 313, do the spacers! The car looks very different. It looks as it should have come from the factory. Even the 313 18" look much better. I just installed them, but no signs of rubbing. I've done spacers before, even in very bad roads and have had no issues.
