yep. thats why i didnt get the camera. i wanted to make sure i got a good lens...besides the kit lens....and the money just kept adding up.

You can start off with an entry level camera, or buy something pre-owned.
I picked up my 40D pre-owned, just get something that still has a warranty. Unless you get a good price on something a bit older.
