We feel the V2 would be best. There is not a huge difference between the two. But we like the performance of the new mods. Shall we send you the V2?

Thanks for the response, Pure. I am currently in Afghanistan and the internet here is a little slow and not all sites load completely. Your web page is probably clearer with a better connection.

I will be returning stateside in a few weeks so expect my order then. V2 for me and we will see how it works through a stock downpipe. On my B5 Audi S4, a stock exhaust would produce a "sandblaster" sound on a chipped car. Sounded as if there was simply too much air flowing through the piping. We will see if that happens in the N55.

As for a stock dyno, I was 278whp as a "baseline" with the OEM PPK software. This is on a 2011 6AT sedan. The car is not modded otherwise. I am planning your turbo run with a Cobb Accessport custom tuned by ProTuning Freaks. We will see what that can put out. I am hoping for a peak north of 340whp on 93 octane and at least 30+ horsepower over baseline up above 5500 rpm. If PTF balks at trying to tune this turbo with a Cobb, the alternate plan is to go with a JB4. I'll keep the forum posted as to how this all turns out.

Sounds good. We look forward to hearing from you in a few weeks. Thanks Sir.

Or will I have to pay the core charge and my turbo is worthless? I'm ready to do this mod, and seems a lot better than the alternative. Thanks.
That makes 2 of us. I had a very similar experience leaving work Friday.

This all seems to be a little creepy.
First 2 N55 turbo failures in the same week.
We both lost exhaust blade.
We both are in Texas.
Placed Pureturbos stage 1 orders the same day.
And have the same first name...............

How many miles on your car and what map/psi do you normally run? ? This is scary to know most n55 turbo will blow and lose a blade probably somewhere in the motor

The compressor wheels are billet, the turbines are cast. 99.9% of all turbos use a cast turbine wheel.

This is the exhaust side. So if a blade is lost, it will end up in the cat or exhaust if your catless. Ive seen a few MINI turbos blow up and Ive never seen one lose a blade and they are also Borg Warner. If that gives you any peace of mind. Seen a few compressor nuts come off, but they end up against the DV.

True, it's pretty rare that a wheel blade ever ends up in the engine. It either ends up sitting in the intercooler end tank (if the compressor wheel loses a blade), or in the exhaust system (if the turbine wheel loses a blade).

Wow that's a bit creepy haha.. Did your car backfire when it happened, or did it just lose power and start making weird noises?

It was directly after a 2nd to 3rd gear shift it gave load pop, not really a backfire. Then it lost power with large puff of smoke. When it happened I was sure it was the engine but it turns out it's just a turbo upgrade.

People are confused with those weird dynos numbers .. All we need is one dyno on pump or e85 or whatever on Dynojet this will clear it up for everyone .. As all the dyno test done by bms was on Dynojet .. we all know that stock turbo fbo n55 on 93 pump puts around 350-60 whp on dyno jet
