I think he wasn't used to seeing V8s with lower torque numbers. But his DD Z06 puts down something like 870RWHP, so his reference is what I would consider "skewed." haha

Hey Kalim - just curious, what engine code do they have in e46's? ie N52, N54. It's just something I've always wondered.

Most non-M E46s with inline-6 engines are M54s. There's a SULEV version which they called the M56. The first couple of production years had M52s (also in E39s and E36s). M3s have S54s which are based on the M50/S50 design.

So yeah, BMW just moved one letter down the alphabet for the E9X non-Ms.
