Not QUITE true. If you lock it from the outside, you can indeed lock someone in the car. That activates a double-lock that cannot be overridden from inside the vehicle. (I'm sure I'm not the only one who did this to a Significant Other -- hopefully in jest!)

The round thingy in front of the drivers seat makes the scenery move to the right when you turn it to the left (and vice versa). Pushing the little foot-thingy on the right makes this happen faster.

Using the turn-signal makes other drivers scoot up to block your lane change in major cities. It also identifies you as a tourist.

If you don't lock the doors after you park, the car turns invisible.

Objects in the right-hand mirror are closer than they appear.

This is one of the best posts yet!

Good thing I didn't read all pages, I'll just read the manual when the car get here

It can be overridden. If you are locked in from outside, press the unlock button once and then try the door handle. The door will open.

Also not quite true. If you lock the car from the outside, it's still possible to unlock it from the inside, you just have to know how (press the unlock button on the center dash, then pull one of the door handles twice).

Interesting! I'm gonna try this.

(I *was* able to lock someone in my first BMW, but that was way back in a 1992 E34 525i in the 20th century! )

I hate it when people slam car doors and this is just a nice touch that doesn't require brute force to close something.
I need to close mine forcefully or it won't latch. One of our cars is broken.

You've got it backwards.

Uhoh.....I like the way mine closes so I'll leave it the way it is....Maybe it's the stainless steel plate frame that I put on that's weighing it down?

Thats 100% illegal and against federal law. All cars in the US have to be able to be open from the INSIDE, without power!

If you close the session then you can't add to it. if it's a CDRW then you have to erase it completely to be able to use it for other stuff.

CDRWs can always be re-written.

Steve, mine does this too and I have a plastic frame on the rear. I like it! No more slamming. BTW- I go with the plastic frame so I don't get the rattling every time the trunk closes. I HATE that!

here is something if not mentioned already:

If you drive off with your mirrors still folded, they will automatically unfold after you hit 25mph.

Yep, at 3200 miles I replaced the front windshield, a rock did too much damage, and now with only 700 miles on the new one, there is already 4 small chips....maybe it is Arizona?

This problem is not specific to BMW. There really are not that many suppliers of auto glass in the world. It doesn't take much to chip a window.
