Thanks man!

I just realized I had a typo in the specs of that post. The rears are ET33, not ET35.

Hi Ryan,
My car is E91 335xi Touring.
I'm looking to buy the ARC8. My goal is to achieve the best performance in the curves. What would be your recommendation regarding the wheel size? Do I get better performance with 17'' or 18'' ? There will be no track use. I use the car for daily driving.
Regarding the tires I am going to use square setup.
Waiting for your answer.
Thanks.

Hey Alp, happy to help and appreciate your interest. For an ARC-8 square fitment where maximizing the cars handling potential is top of mind, I would suggest running our 18x9" ET30 on all four corners. These wheels will be a direct fit on all four corners, and can be outfitted with 235/40-18, 245/40-18 or 255/35-18 tires depending on your preference.

Do you have a pre-lci or lci model, and are you still on the stock suspension?

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the info.

It is a pre-lci model running on KW V3. Ride height is stock ride height, don't plan to go any lower on that.

Cool deal. The KW V3 suspension will get very close to the front tires if you go with 255/35-18's, so just keep that in mind. Depending on the tire brand, your suspension may require you to use small 3mm or 5mm spacers up front for strut clearance.

I will go with 245/40/18 on Michelin Pilot Sport 4. So I assume it's gonna be just plug and play?

It is for the most part, however keep in mind the 245/40-18 tire is a touch tall for the front of the car. It is a great fitment, but you will be increasing the overall rolling diameter from stock, and lightly scrubbing/touching the front fender liners is possible upon compression/full lock.

Many enthusiasts enjoy this square fitment, I am just covering our basis in regards to all plausible scenarios.

What would be your recommendation in order to avoid scrubbing?

Just got an 08 335xi Coupe, currently with stock suspension and OEM 17x8 with 225/45/17. Very interested in some Apex wheels. Looking for street performance and presence. I like the look of 17s or 18s. I'm wondering what the widest setup I can fit in the front and rear would be with a staggered setup. Since I have the xi, I'd like to have a very similar rollling diameter in order to keep the transfer case healthy, but I want as wide as possible in the back. Perhaps willing to roll fenders, so I'm wondering the maximum rim and tire width I could do in the front and back to avoid rubbing, with and without rolling. Also considering coilovers, and not sure how that would affect the max amenable fitment. Stock suspension for the time being but would eventually upgrade to coilovers, so also curious as to how that would affect fitment. Thank you for any guidance.

Thank you for your interest. If you would like a staggered fitment which optimizes front and rear end grip on stock suspension while keeping rolling diameters in check, I would recommend the following fitment:

18x9" ET30 profile 3 face - 245/40-18
18x9.5" ET35 profile 3 face - 275/35-18

* Rear fenders may need to be rolled to prevent rubbing with 275 tires depending on tire brand and vehicle ride height. Dialing in a touch more negative camber out back is also a way to prevent rubbing.

I have a 19x8.5 ET 20 PS-7 that I am putting in the fronts. I am wondering if I can use the tire size of 245/35 - 19.

I will probably add the negative camber as needed but will I have any issues with hitting the coilover? ( ST XTA coils )

No inner clearance issue's whatsoever. The 8.5" ET20 wheel has a ton off inner clearance due to the low offset and relatively slim wheel width.

Great to hear! In that case, do you think I can bump up the size to a 255? Not looking to have so much negative camber it affects performance though.

With a 8.5" wheel, I would stick to a 245 tire for better sidewall support.

Also, negative camber increases handling performance and promotes more consistent tire wear when driving spiritedly or on track.

Baby got new shoes

18x9 ET 30/18x9.5 ET22
Continental ExtremeContact Sports 235/40 FR 265/35 RR
H&R Touring Cup kit, fenders rolled

Despite going down in both wheel and tire size (previous setup was 19x10 ET25 with 275/30 Conti DWs), rears are still rubbing. I think the new Contis run much wider than the DW

Here is mine on OEM M-sport suspension,
8,5x18 ET38 - 225/40/18
9,5x18 ET35 - 255/35/18

I'm not quite sure about the Anthracite color on (Mineral) White..
Screams a bit of "MODDED" instead of the subtle "blend in traffic" look..
Second pic of photoshop, looks a bit better to me

Are these wheels safe for powdercoating?

Thanks for sharing photo's! You can certainly strip the paint and have the wheels powdercoated, but this would void any warranties.

We have new production going on popular 19" fitments in both ARC-8 and EC-7 designs as we speak, and they are due to arrive in July if I recall.
