I love those pics with the city as the backdrop. If the meet is in a few weeks I'll join. I'd like to get off my snow tires/wheels prior to any group pics. I usually swap out to summers in the first or second week of March and then cross my fingers for no snow.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I just looked at the first page and a few of the middle pages. 29 pages of chat was too much for me.

guys... chill about the pix... I got it taken care of, this isn't like my 1st chicago photoshoot or anything, I've been doing this a while.

go google map the address I gave you 1750 lynn white dr. do a street view and check out the background we'll have for the pix.

BTW I know the spot posted by Jay and Ultimate... its right on top of a whole foods on Roosevelt and Canal. I've been there several times, that bridge just east of it is a favorite spot of mine.

Anyway, this is kinda what I have planned for us:
*I didn't take these but its basically the same area just a bit further north than what we'll see... but we should be able to get Soldiers Field in the background of ours.

This one is closest to where we'll actually be:

don't worry, I won't let you guys down.

I'm almost there. I have the catless midpipes (sec. 2) and a catback exhaust (sec. 3). The latter is what I did first and made it the loudest. I'm kind of regretting not doing the downpipes first because I think with catless downpipes, my car is going to be unbearably loud. I guess there's only one way to find out!

yea hopefully one of you guys will have it in. not only am i worried about the smell im wondering what the drone will be like. right now its ok and kinda of enjoyable. after the DP's i wonder if it would just make it annoying.
but if i do get DP's which do u guys think would be better? VK has 2.5 inchers which he said he would install for me for only 50 bringing the total to 600, which is pretty good i think.
i really like the riss racing Riss racing one too. but those are 3 inchers for 700, plus install which would prob bring the total to 900?
now as far as sizes go im thinking the VK ones will be better since theyre straight 2.5 which is the diameter size of the midpipes and the outlet from the turbo, so it will be all one continuous flow.
Riss (from the turbo) has it 2.5 inches, into a 3 inch, then tapering down to 2.5 inch (to the midpipes). my balls say bigger is better. but if all the air has to exit through a 2.5 inch passage then whats the point of having all the exhaust fill up that 3 inch area then "wait" to be funneled through the 2.5 inch.
im not sure if my logic on all of this is 100%

just wait till ams comes out with their downpipes. The cool thing / unfortunate thing depending how you look at it is that the ams downpipes will only work with the ams exhaust. They'll be a real cool design and will flow very well

When I was at IND, Mike showed me how his e90 335i (back when he had it) sounded like completely catless with either a Bastuck or Eismann exhaust (forgot which). I could definitely smell the gas.

Did AMS ditch the idea of going to a single exhaust splitting back out to the dual tips? How is it different than the other systems currently out?

nope they're still going to a single exhaust splitting out to dual tips. The major difference is that its a single run so its a little cheaper without sacrificing performance. Plus they do all engineering in house and THEY'RE LOCAL

we can get it from jo @ euro dyne here...its 35 for the first yard and 32.50 for each yard after (shipped). The fabric is backordered right now, and theyve already sold out half a roll for the next one (if not more by now).

a typical trim will take 1-1.5 yards

To backorder you have to pay in full

so you're saying we should get on this soon for anyone planning on doing the wrap.

I am planning on doing everything except the center console and ashtray so you think I would need more than a yard?

BTW who is going to be helping my severely uncoordinated ass do this shit?

I am planning on doing the wrap as well. They have it over at JLevi as well for about the same price. I was planning on getting 3 yards just to cover my butt for mistakes.

hmmm...

I don't know if I need more than 1 since I'm not doing the center piece (which is the biggest obviously)
