What happens if you flash your car with Cobb accessport then while your car goes to the dealer for service the dealer decides to upgrade the DME then erases the cobb flash ? How do you unmarried the accessport unit and can you use the Cobb accessport to reflash your car again? |

That's one good reason we suggest uninstalling the AccessPORT before going in to the dealership, as it takes only 10 minutes to uninstall. If for whatever reason the dealer installs over the AccessPORT flash, the AccessPORT is temporarily unusable. You would need to ship the AccessPORT back to COBB Tuning, along with a receipt from your BMW service center showing the work that was done. We would then license the AccessPORT so it could be reinstalled on your vehicle. Thanks, Gary |

Cobb - have you guys see this issue yet? If not it sounds like something you should look into.

I sure hope it's not a problem. I was/am hoping to go COBB for the ease of use (uninstalling/installing) over PROcede. |

COBB, as I ask in the other discussion, can you post other screenshot of OEM maps, including the graphing?
I'm curious to see around what values work a stock car. ![]() |

Cobb,
After emailing the rom (and make, model, year, and tranny) to rom@cobbtuning, should we expect a confirmation/acknowledgment of receiving the rom? I sent it in late Wednesday, just wanted to make sure that the file was received, readable, not corrupted, etc. Seems like 5 business days is FOREVER ![]() |

I heard they are going to make updates this coming friday. Personally I think for people to pay 900 and only to help them develop further firmware is a little bonkers. This should have been tackled better before release.

Danny,
I think the concern is that there is potentially a challenge in reading/reprogrammed an ECU with ISTA 2.40.2 version. My SA informed me today that I need to get my ECU reprogrammed with ISTA 2.40.2. Here is the SIB: http://www.bmwtis.com/tsb/bulletins/...p/B130910g.htm Could someone @ COBB confirm if they worked with this particular version yet? I have COBB AP on its way, I want to make sure that there will be no issue when my ECU is eventually reprogrammed. Thanks.. |

But yeah, I agree with you about handling the firmware. It's just that, I'm not sure how else they would get exposure to all the ROMs otherwise. |

They could speed up the process and dedicate one of their guys time to send the end user software that works. Waiting for a week or so is bs imo.

Actually, its less tedious. Tedious to me is taking apart my car to get into the ecu and then praying I dont get usb disconnects during updates/logging. Thats tedious.

Well I sent my ROM Dump file to Rob at 11pm on Jan 11th he sent me back the File to have my Accessport updated at 1:30 Am on the 12th so that was like 2 and a half hours. I think that 5 days is just the extreme for this process to turn around.

Understood. I was coming from the end user perspective. I have installed multiple piggybacks on my and did alot of testing for two of them. I also witnessed two guys that were "testing" harness mess up their ecu pins in the process.

It would seem that the 335s are FAR different from the Mini Coopers - when the AccessPort for the Mini Cooper came out, the beta testing was over in like a week, 'cause there were something like 4 different ECUs (major ones, anyway) - so it was instantly "mass market". Does not seem to be the case for the 335 (doesn't help that there's a MSD80 and a MSD81 to start with).
