I cannot tell you what the process was like for me to get a green card. And I'm a well-behaved white boy
But you'll let 25,000 of them in without background checks? Beyond idiotic. |

If there are any hidden radical elements in the 25,000. They would most likely make there way across the border and plan an attack in the US rather than Canada.
There is absolutely no way they can perform proper background checks on 25,000 people. The entire situation is completely insane. |

I am all for helping people in need, but if we are assuming that there will be no hidden radical extremists in the group of 25,000 then we are living in some sort of a dream world.
Another thing to keep in mind is that some of the decisions Canadian Government (or any other) makes in this regard may or may not have a deeper root benefit (that sometimes could come back to bite them in the ass). We will never really know this, but keep in mind that Justin Trudeau is not making this decision all by himself. |

I dunno....everything seems to point to not accepting the refugees(look what happened in France)
These people should be helped where they are or close by until the region can be stabilized by the U.S. Led coalition....and they can fight for a part of their land after things work in their favour. These are traumatized people that would be better suited to stay and fight IMO. |

The problem is not the idea of taking in 25,000 refugees but the speed at which it is proposed to be done. Good luck with proper screening.
i also work in a building with an immigration office, how half these people get in is beyond me, they are basically unemployable with little to no english and get lost going to the bathroom. Given the situation in Greece, ireland, SPain, portugal etc, do we need to keep taking immigrants from parts of the world that breeds chaos? I am not talking refugees, more legit immigrants. |

The "dark" communications channel being used by ISIS as referenced by another poster isn't so dark. It's been reported by various media outlets and long been tracked by the intelligence communities about terrorists (not only ISIS) using the voice capabilities of online gaming. http://www.computerworld.com/article...ist-clues.html |

Didn't they want to let in 25k by the end of the year?
That seems like a lot in 6 weeks. The US wants to just let in 10k throughout all of 2016 and the screening process takes several, several months. |

I don't social media but apparently it's a shit storm of unfriending today over the differing opinions.
I just want to know two things. Are all the other muslim countries in the region taking in "refuges"? And if they aren't, are all the social justice warriors unfriended all the other muslim countries as well?

I just hope this doesn't come back 5 years down the road and bit us right in the ass and these people will be productive members of society and not a drain(this would be injustice and an insult to every hard working Canadian)
Guess time will tell as it's happening. |

Can you see this level of regional economic growth and prosperity with any other refugee group? Will their culture and religion allow assimilation or does it encourage isolationism? |

Hmmm.... Maybe they all know something the west doesn't. Or maybe the western leaders are too busy being politically correct to realize it.

Radical elements among the refugees allowed into Canada or Mexico represent a threat to the US. This is exactly what happened with Greece and France.
Why should refugees be transported across the world to be helped? An international safe zone should be created and managed by the international community as a temporary construct much closer to home. |
