Yes it certainly is a great DIY mod for added ram air flow!! You get the benifits of placing the air filter outside the vehicle without any of the fuss that is associated with the other brands.
![]() ![]() When are you coming down for yours nico? I have one with your name on it. ![]() Best Regards, Max-

Looks very impressive, will this work for the e90 330i? Does it replaces the OEM airbox? And last but not least, where is the DIY so ppl know how easy/hard it is to do the retrofit/mod...
Thanks.

Here's a quick DIY guide for those that purchase our HVI intake system.
![]() Tools required: 1. Rachet & 12" socket extension 2. 8mm socket 3. 10mm socket 4. T-15 torx driver 5. Flat head screw driver Stock engine bay: ![]() Step 1: Remove the plastic pieces (2) and center piece using 8mm the flat head screw driver. ![]() ![]() ![]() Step 2: Remove the 3 wires from the stock air box and the air tube. ![]() ![]() Step 3: Remove the front air snorkel with T-15 torx driver and air box clamps with flat head screw driver. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Step 4: Remove power steering reservoir bracket with 10mm socket and reinstall it using the relocation bracket. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Step 5: Install the air filter to the HVI. Then slide in the rear section of the intake first. Do not clamp it yet. Then Make sure the diverter valve hose sits underneath the air filter flange and gently twist it towards the driver side while sliding the 2nd HVI inlet into the oem plastic intake tract. press down gently so the filter sits in the desired position. Hold the intake in place and tighten down the 2nd HVI inlet clamp, and then tighten down the rear clamp on the intake. Reconnect the wires to the bracket. Reinstall the air snorkel, the center piece, polen filter and 2 plastic covers. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() YOU'RE DONE! ![]() ![]() We will post up a brake duct DIY that will allow RAM AIR to be fed right to the HVI. You can also simply mod the stock air scoop to allow even more air to the filter. Hope this helps guys.. Have a great weekend!!! Last edited by Huy@Logic; 03-14-2008 at 08:08 PM.. |
