Anyone else looking to do this the same guy I bought my stuff from has a 3.15 diff w/driveshaft for 800+ shipping no axles though but im sure you can find those

you're lucky as you can choose.
MT guys can only use the 3.15 which will shorten the gears a bit
335is DCT guys (2.56 ratio) will need to open the diff up and change the final gear

Anyone with a 335is do this yet? Can the tranny be reprogrammed? Not that a 3.15 would be used, in fact it would suck, but just curious.

You can, you'd just have to have one made. I don't know why BMW used a 2 piece, but it probably had something to do with optimum angles on the u-joints (purely a guess though).

How do the Nissan GT-R guys get away with all their shenanigans? There must be a way to retrain the system. Although the current final ratio is probably sufficient, maybe lower when boosted.

I believe VTT use a Cr Mo one piece DS, and there are one piece cf options out there also.

a one piece driveshaft is definitely possible

Here is one guy who used a custom made carbon driveshaft by the drive shaft shop

Looks like the 335 dct has the same drive shaft as the m3 style does anyone know the length? Maybe there won't be a need to modify the 335 nondct drive shaft if it is in deed the same length

3.15 gearing will not work on dct. It is programmed to the transmission. Will set faults and be undrivable. Regearing to within 10% of 2.56. Closer is better. You will have to shorten the m3 shaft to fit.

335i dct driveshaft looks like it bolts up exactly like the m3 driveshaft

no it does not bolt up the same. different bolt pattern on transmission side.

on the diff side the m3 shaft and diff use a cv with 6 bolts. The dct shaft has one nut connection like all 335i

the length is also different.

you will need a m3 shaft and modify it to get it all to work.

That picture is one that I took when converting David Rooney's 135i to DCT. The shaft on the left looks different because it has a protection cap on the end for shipping purposes. It is removed before install.

My apologies you are completely correct in the pic it looked like the m3 ds. So back to the drawing board.

Drive shaft lengths are listed in millimeters on RealOem, you can use that info in combination with looking at pics of driveshafts for sale on eBay and start to connect the dots. This is what I did for retrofitting my M5 driveshaft on my E61, I ended up needing an E60 M5 guibo, M5 trans output flange, and having the shaft custom lengthened (30mm) to fit.
