Anyone with a 335is do this yet? Can the tranny be reprogrammed? Not that a 3.15 would be used, in fact it would suck, but just curious. |

You can, you'd just have to have one made. I don't know why BMW used a 2 piece, but it probably had something to do with optimum angles on the u-joints (purely a guess though).

Can't we just code for the different ratios?

Here is one guy who used a custom made carbon driveshaft by the drive shaft shop http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=322 It's $1399 and you'll need to supply the exact dimensions for it. VTT uses the same one |

Looks like the 335 dct has the same drive shaft as the m3 style does anyone know the length? Maybe there won't be a need to modify the 335 nondct drive shaft if it is in deed the same length

Stands to reason they would be the same style the DCT in the 335i is exactly the same as the one in the M3

3.15 gearing will not work on dct. It is programmed to the transmission. Will set faults and be undrivable. Regearing to within 10% of 2.56. Closer is better. You will have to shorten the m3 shaft to fit.

So just wondering on the length of the m3 ds vs 335i dct ds vs 335i mt ds? 335i dct driveshaft looks like it bolts up exactly like the m3 driveshaft https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...1868117&type=3 the left is the dct ds from a 335i

no it does not bolt up the same. different bolt pattern on transmission side.
on the diff side the m3 shaft and diff use a cv with 6 bolts. The dct shaft has one nut connection like all 335i the length is also different. you will need a m3 shaft and modify it to get it all to work. |

My apologies you are completely correct in the pic it looked like the m3 ds. So back to the drawing board.
