Yes, I make a lot of money. But guess what? I have to work my ass off for it and I am very careful about spending it. I leave the house at 7:00am and often don't get home till 10:00pm, and on the weekends I want to be with my kids... so logical progression would be for someone else to go do it, which my wife is more than happy to help. The point of sending someone else to do it for me was that I don't have time and she did. I am not that picky on tires, I just didn't expect someone would call this a 'performance tire'. $700 isn't the point per se either, it's that it's $700 for a set of tires THAT ARE SO BAD IT MAKES YOUR CAR FEEL LIKE A rebranded jap family hauler should be avoided.

The point: Michelin tire are costly. This tire sucks. A costly tire that sucks should be avoided.
lol. i have sympathy for you, but you dont have to hate on jap cars.

The only person that should be blamed is yourself. If I send my wife to the store to get my casual pants, she will buy a pair of casual pants and they could be just about anything in a casual pant. If I want her to get casual pants, made by Dockers, with a pleated front, cuffs and a metal zipper in a size 34w/34l in black, that is what I will get.

As for Michelin Pilot A&S, they are great tires for what they are advertised. My wife has them on her Accord and they work perfectly in that application and for her driving style.

Regards,

Rich

+1.

One thing you did do right is sending your wife to Costco, where they guarantee customer satisfaction on all their products!

Costco indeed has a return policy on everything they sell (though within 90 days for computers and tvs I think) including stuff their tire shop sales.

A while ago when my friend bought a set of tires at Costco the tire shop guy goof'ed up and ended up ordering a set of wider lower profile performance 17" tires from the sports edition version of the car despite my friends car being a 17" all season non-sport. Of course since my friend drives a non-sport package car, she cares much more about the ride comfort and low noise than sportiness so when Costco put those tires on the her car it was significantly noiser and bouncier than her old tires.

Long story short, when she brought her car back 4 months later to Costco to do her rotation and complained, Costco refunded her the full amount back and helped her order the correct set of non-sport tires.

Oh, and costco has good hot dogs and churros as well . Plus free food samples!

Disagree completely. A lot of people who make over $200k drive cars costing MUCH less than a BMW. Maybe they want to save for retirement. Maybe they are saving for their kids' future. Many other reasons.

I think he's disappointed that he got crap tires from a store that he trusts. I like costco because their service is good. I guess he was disappointed with their recommendation.

The "funny" aspect of it is that his wife is proud of her purchase. The OP is not blaming anyone, just venting. We can smile at his expense. I thank the OP for the good story!

Then, I really don't see the point of OP's incoherent rant. Just take them back and exchange for something else. Last time I checked, they sell PS2s as well.

Geez... I understand you're frustrated but crying over 700 bucks when you make 200k+ a year? I hope you don't sweat bullets and sweat like you do when uncle sam sticks his hand in your pocket at the end of the year and squeezes (which I bet is more than 700) and that's a WASTE of money.

If I were you, I'd take the tires off... and sell them privately. You'd get back a few hundred for them! Consider the $400 you might lose a gambling loss.

OR you could just visit costco again, put 4 nails in the tires, road hazard them, then tell them you want new ones but this time different models.

The psi in the tires were low... most of the problem went away with that...

hahahaha... don't feel bad.

I had these (not by choice) on my old 05 RSX type S and almost dumped my car into a corn field on a windy country road here outside of madison... jesus they suck, I feel your pain.

as for your wife... maybe its time to let her spend a few hours in the wheel/tire forums on here so she knows what not to buy next time.
