Since you are "glad to tell", is it fair to read that as you would miss confort access more than the $500 you spent way back then?

EDIT: I see that you were not the OP. From your other posts it looks like you are expecting in March.

I wonder if there is anyone out there who did get CA more than a few months ago and can say that they still miss the money they spent on it back then. I doubt it.

And for any who feel they would rather have not spent the money: for a week try using your fob like you don't have CA. Then report back about what you think.

What's gimmicky is the start/stop button without the comfort access. WTF is that start/stop button for if you still have to put a key in. Its quicker to start the car with a key (if you haven't got CA).

On my last car(535d) I could not justify the cost of CA. I was really excited that the car had a start/stop button and I thought that would be a wow factor to show people. Infact I was pretty embarassed to show anyone after a time as it was quite clear from the look on their faces that this was s...t. It was the biggest regret I had.

This time I have ordered CA and feel really excited about it.

CA- a must have!!!!!!!!!

I took delivery in December (see sig.) I got CA in a package with Adaptive Xenons. Saved € 400,-.

+1!

It's so odd when you enter a different car and initially search for the button!

its a great option, $500
never have to place the key into the ignition. the only time you need to handle your remote key is when picking it up or placing it down, other wise, it can stay in your pocket.

It seems like a conveience/lazy/cool factor to me.
Dude a guy I know bought a 645i without CA six months ago. Last weekend he traded it because he did not know about CA when he ordered his car. Lost a few thousand in the deal of course, but it did not mater to him.

CA is wired at the factory so the order must be placed before production begins.
I love it grab the handle, push the start button and go. Well worth the cost for me. Had I not got it I would be upset.

Are you sure about "never"? I thought I had read it in the manual that the CA for the E92 had a replaceable battery (CR2025?). But this remote does not have a removable cover to give access to a battery.

A couple weeks ago when I got my first oil change (1,500 miles) the SA was going to show me what data they pull off the remote key. It had no data at all. He explained that I have to put the key in the slot for awhile to transfer the data to the key. Also, this is how the remote gets charged up.

I think he is right. You need to put the CA remote key in the ignition slot to charge it up (I'll do that on a long drive). Any you have to put it in the slot to syncrhonize the data contained on the key.

I regret getting CA.....because now I've gotten so used to not using my keys anymore, I approach regular doors and my house w/o taking my keys expecting the lock to just open magically for me....

Opening the trunk

I've been dying to ask this question, but didn't want to start a thread about it.

On my car (e92 335i) I've found that opening the trunk with CA works flawlessly if I "double-click" the release button, whereas a single "click" never works regardless of how close/far the key is. I can be standing beside the trunk (not even behind it) and it will open with the double-click - there's no need to turn this way or that way as others have reported having to do.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Nope. I walk up to the trunk, press and hold the trunk button until it opens. Usually takes a half-second on the trunk, and I assume that is how it is designed.

On the other hand, doors open immediately with CA. Sometimes I will forget it's locked, and I just go up and pull the door quickly as if it were unlocked -- not even thinking about standing in a particular place or anything. Every time, the system has reacted fast enough that the door opens as if it were unlocked the whole time. Always a Keanu Reeves "whoa" moment when I do this, thankful that it reacted so fast.

CA works extremely well for me. Absolutely no regrets here.

My comfort access is not comfortable. It is a big pain in the ass. Sometimes it doesn't wanna open, and people see me trying to open the frickin door and the door is still lucked. I look like a robber! a cheap one who can't tell when the door is close. And the Bluethooth is also a pain in the ass. If you are talking and you get inside the car, forget about the phone call, and besides that the self phone won't be recognized for a while. If you are talking and you decide to get out of the car, also forget about the phone call unless you wish to stay inside the car. There is one system I regret not getting, and it was the Active Cruise Control, why? because if you take a road trip, it is so much comfortable to drive with it. I mean, I took a drive with my dad's 7 Series, and it was a dream, we could talk and be relax. I never had to press the breaks or the gas, the car was basically driving itself, sorting the gas efficiency to the best performance. Now, with my car, it was the same old story. Don't get me wrong, I love to drive, but then there are like a million cops on the interstate, there is no pleasure on driving anymore.
