And they don't allow cars older than 12 years (I forget the exact number) on the platform. Also, your personal insurance will most likely cover you so you don't need minimum protection (assuming you have good insurance)
Your story has holes in it.

tdott those cars are in violation of Turo rules.

People unfortunately post cars that old and they should be flagged

Personal insurance, at least here, does not cover the vehicle.

Not much of a rule if they dont enforce it. It literally says in the listing the year, which means turo could enforce it on creation if they really wanted to.

It is funny to see someone stan so hard for a company...

Not sure how mine would work. Both my insurance and my CC cover rentals but all of the lit references legit contract rentals, not this stuff. And I KNOW they exclude ANYTHING rideshare (even my coverage in another person's vehicle, of which I have SOME).

Ill stick with the original plan, if Im looking to try out something specific Ill do it but if I actually need something I can rely on where its not going to end up being a poorly maintained POS or the guy just cancels on me) Ill stick with the corporations. Done literally THOUSANDS of rentals with Hertz/Avis/National and never had a single problem.

They actually do enforce it - you literally have no idea what you're talking about. Just because they don't pull down every listing doesn't mean they don't enforce it

According to my friend (who does this for a living) what Turo does is let you list cars that aren't totally cool and as long as their isn't a problem you are OK. However as soon as there is a problem they deny your claim because (insert thing you did wrong according to the T&C). Things you did wrong include the year, having a salvage title, having an open recall on the vehicle, etc....

So yeah, Turo is a great solution for most people and is normally less expensive than rental car companies. A few unicorn examples mention otherwise but not the norm...also if you have an AMEX you can receive $30 off

Wait what? I use my Amex Platinum exclusively for travel - because of the HUGE amount of benefits - been a member since 1999 - so if I book with Amex, do I get 30% off? Yes?

No I think it's $30 - it should be in your 'offers' area in the app so I think you have to add to receive that discount.
