a small % of cars do require very minor trimming. However we have modified the mounting brackets to allow fore/aft and side to side adjustment to eliminate most occurances of trimming.

The new revised Helix FMIC's that we've installed usually don't require any cutting. In the few instances they did, it was very, very minimal. Buy with confidence... i've had mine for a while and love it!!

+1 The few I have had installed went very smoothly, including the one in my car. No cutting at all.

I would recommend Forge intercooler simply for the reason my IATs dropped by 30% (20C degrees Celsius)

I love it. Yes you have to cut off about 1/2" from the front shroud. It replaces the stock piping connections which to me is a must (not all FMIC's do that) because the stock piping/connections is restrictive. I also feel like the AMS end tanks are the best flowing. There are no square or triangular corners to disrupt air-flow. Also the end tanks are cast and therefore lighter for their size. The piping is upgraded to 3" on both sides as well, which is nice for possible future piping changes (intake and/or charge pipes).

Butt dyno shows smoother acceleration and more power on the top end with only an SSTT. Installed it myself almost 3 months ago, no leaks or problems at all.

Anyone with experience installing FMICs with the E90 M Aero front bumper (pre-LCI)? More room or less or no difference?

Didn't helix update the end tanks for better flow?

I think the only other cast end-tank design is Evolution Racewerks. I'm having trouble deciding between them or AMS.
