335? No chance in hell unless you're pushing 450+rwhp and are driving a stripped out car with weight reduction. (And that's just to stand a chance against a STOCK one)
AFAIK, only myself and 1 or 2 others even have experience against one (in a 335i, not a slower m3 ). We tell you what happened and all the GTR nut huggers pounce.

From roughly 60-110ish I was not pulled on more than a 1/2 car, after 115mph I was beaten pretty bad. I can see how, in a different situation, within a given mph range, the outcome could be different.

The only way the outcome would be different is as if you said you're going in a different mph range, and you still would need a heavily modded 335 (we're not talking about just throwing on a JB3 here).

60-110ish really isn't enough of a valid comparison. You call that a race? By 160 mph the GT-R will have put so many lengths on you.....game over.

I've also seen blake's GT-R go up against an AA supercharged e46 M3 with ~525hp. He tore him up.

The M3 that I drove wasn't necessarily stock either.

No one's doubting the 335's abilities (Hell I love mine), but comparing it to a GT-R even if it's just to "hang" with one for a few seconds is for the LOL. You're going to be needing bigger turbo's.

But in the end it's still a Nissan, and the interior is still shit. As Blake loves to hear, it's a 350z with a body kit.

Pretty simple math.. There are many cars on this forum with 440-450 horsepower at the wheels, some of them running mid 11's at 120+. e90 weighs about 3500 pounds. A stock gtr makes about 420 at the wheels and weighs 300 pounds more. Not tough to figure out that a 335 could stay with a gtr for a bit..match up a 335i with dtc and Id bet on the 335 from a roll.

Why is so hard to believe that a fully modded 335i cant hang with a GT-R? Granted I hate those cars, I might be biased, but like everyone else is saying, a good amount of 335i's with meth or race gas trap in the 118-125 range. And I'm sure there are a good amount of guys fully modded who havent gotten a chance to get back to the track yet.
Blake, why dont you run Terrance??

Yupp, that was the point of posting it. . .

People in this thread are saying no way a heavily modded N54 car will hang with a GTR.

Well there you have it... the 135i is dead even the whole race. If upgraded turbos isn't heavily modded, I don't know what is...

because by the time we would get the chance to, I'll be pushing over 700 all wheel horsepower. That's not fair nor will it be remotely close. He's in Texas and I'm in Florida. My car will be back in Texas next week for turbos swap and full race kit.

I think it's pretty funny how the 335's wanna hang with the GT-R.

If you take driver skill out of the equation, it doesn't even make sense to match them up, GTR wins hands down.

There are only a handful of heavily modified 335's in the world that can possibly (barely) beat a STOCK GTR. Give credit to where it's due, the GTR is a masterpiece.

I considered it over the 335i but I needed a daily driver instead of a weekend car, so it was an easy win for bmw.

I assure you, I would be no problem whatsoever hanging with a GTR. None.

Yeah it's funny the rationale about "anything can happen in a race". With that reasoning a Geo Metro > modded 335i? Granted both parties consistently mash the pedal from a roll, modded 335i < GTR.

I had a C6Z06 before I traded DOWN in performance for my 335i (it was a trade UP for everything else). Even those guys go back and forth with their chances against a GTR. And that's running 505HP out of the box.

the gt-r is a masterpiece. i know people love to talk shit about it, but like you said, give credit where credit is due. but having been around here for a while, it's hard not to notice the 335 ego. i've heard way too many falsified kill stories from 335 drivers like the one OP posted. without video, i don't buy it. having driven 335's, m3's, gt-r's, ferrari's, porsche's, etc., they're all fantastic cars, but i'll have my rice burner any day (except a f458 italia ). i love the car that much. i was really torn between a 997TT and the gt-r, but i chose well. handles 10x more solidly than my m3, has very addictive acceleration, and no bmw i've ever driven gives me the happy feeling that the gt-r does. drive one for a few minutes and you'll understand exactly what i'm talking about.

i don't see why you couldn't DD a gt-r. plenty of people do, including me. it's almost as comfortable as my m3 and it has tons more gadgets to play with.

nah, i drove it but i just needed something relatively cheap that I could just stack miles on. I've been driving at about 25k/year at this rate so I'd just feel bad putting those miles on an GTR, porsche or the like.

realistically, i'm gonna keep the 335 until i'm done with my MBA, so another year or so, then i plan on going luxury instead of sport (slow transition).

throw those factors in with the fact that i've been suspended twice and on the verge of a third time...i think i made the right choice of staying away

haters i swear and it's not just this board though, it's all fanatics.

civics heavily modified would make our car looks like kia's and it'll be way cheaper too.

what's the point!!!

we can't even keep up with '10 mustangs stock and the '11 mustangs are gonna be in m3 territory.

just take it for what it is, we got great cars that have a great amount of oomph, can easily be modified, look great inside/out and make our tummies tingle. When they made the GTR do you actually think for one moment they considered the 335 as a competitor??? NO, they were making a track machine that would impress and join the ranks of the best.

Just take a step back and realize where our cars are in the great scheme of the automobile world.

lmfao at you post about chevys

See what your doing to your gtr? There are plenty of people that are just as into modding that will beef up a z06 and throw a twin turbo kit (I know at least 3 people on my area with FI z06's) that will laugh at a gtr, even yours with "800 horsepower." American muscle wins everytime, dont doubt it.

I sense so much fail in this thread. There's no comparison to be made about the performance of the 335 to the GTR. You modify a 335 ok then you stack up with a stock GTR, I modify my GTR and I make the 335 look like a stock Civic. Besides that I'd love to see the pricing on some of the stuff you guys are putting on these 335's to get them to hang with a stock GTR. This argument is just dumb.
