STICKY
Not that I'll ever need to use M-Style Romford but if I did ever need to use M-Style Romford I wouldn't anyway, because I've read some scathing comments about M-Style Romford re their lack of professionalism and after-sales support.

Hi guys, well what can I say. Looks like my company is getting a pretty bad name at the moment. I can accept the odd complaint from customers as even though we try to get things right every time this is often not the always possible. The most important thing when this happens is that the situation is dealt with properly and proffessionally and if my customers aren't getting this then that's no good.
To be frank and honest with you all I've noticed more complaints relating to our customer service recently and am on the case with this right now as I don't want to be hearing this. WIthout going deep over old ground, we did use the correct oil in the M3 from M3 cutters, but there was confusion between the customer and Raj, my salesperson at the time, which led to the customer getting another oil change somewhere else. I did refund the customer for the work we did due to the confusion. I am having a restructure of staffing at the moment (as has been mentioned Raj is no longer with my company) to enable our customer service levels to get back up to levels our customers have been used to over the past 10 years and apart from the blip the other day with MJY2000 I'd like to think our customer service is pretty good. MJY2000, on Friday you spoke to Gary, not Tony. I beleive Tony dealt with you initially when taking your order. Yes we did have a problem with the courier on Thursday meaning a lot of our mail order parts didn't go out. Ideally you should have been called on Friday morning about the situation. Tony had already got your parts ready to go out on friday and had put onto a saturday delivery and was going to call you with the tracking number. When you spoke to Gary on the Phone Friday afternoon I kind of overheard the conversation and that it was a little heated. I had a meeting with Gary about this on Friday evening and he appologised to me for the way he spoke to you on the phone and the reasons why he spoke in the way he did was becuase of the tone of the conversation and also he had some other things on his mind which ideally shouldn't have affected his attitude on the phone. I spoke to Tony and instructed him to call you on saturday which he tried to do at around 2pm but I beleive there was no answer to discuss the situation and appolgise as well as offering you a gesture on the parts. I understand you're away at the moment, but I'd appreciate if you could call me when you return as I would like to offer you these parts at half price and I personally appologise if a member of my staff was unreasonable on the telephone to you. I like to think that our prices are reasonable and we also offer price match if you can find the same parts elsewhere cheaper. With our paintwork we do offer a 6 year warranty and once again I'd like to think customers won't have any problems, but for the small percentage of failure rate by us we will do all we can to resolve the problem proffessionally if we're given the chance but we obviously try to keep these cases to bear minimum or not at all. Approx 20 BMW's go through our workshop per week for bodykits and paintwork and I beleive we have a very low failure/problem rate. I notice there are a couple of unhappy members on who may have had a problem, but I'd like think we got it resolved for you if we were made aware of it. Whilst the forums are great for exposing problems with companies and parts as well as promoting and complimenting others I'd also like to think that there are plenty of members on here who've had work done by us and have been happy. At the end of day guys, there has been a decline in our customer service level relating to a small percentage of our customers, once again I'd like plenty of our happy customers to come forward too just to prove that we're not a useless company. We're a family business and I want to provide a good service to our customers and unlike a backstreet business I am facing this situation head on in admitting there is a problem in some areas. However I assure you that moving forward we will offer the best service possible to you guys and if you have any previous concerns please contact me directly and I'll be happy to discuss. Paul |

I have been reading this post with interest as I have ordered some wheels from M-Style (Gunmetal VMR). I am waiting for confirmation as to when they will be in. But to be fair to Paul he has kept me informed as to the progress (Bloody Volcaino)
So hopefully in the not too distant future I will give some positive feedback Matt |

I've been reading this thread about M-Style Romford with interest as M-Style Romford is one of my local(ish) bodyshops and I was thinking about getting some work done by M-style Romford, namely a bodykit. I appreciate Paul from M-Style Romford coming forward to offer an explanation about why the business is getting a bad rep, but I think i'll have to wait and see the positive reviews of M-Style Romford before I go ahead with anything....just seems like you can't trust places these days!

It can only help that Paul has commented constructively. Watch this space then eh?

He pops up when his company gets a bit of bad press, posts a few times to try and smooth things over and is then never heard from again...hardly what I would call being an active member of the community is it? It is also worth noting that every other post was in the classifieds section here. I think until some longtime members (not new members single posting ) can come forward with stories of excellent customer service and equally high levels of workmanship I will be giving M-Style a miss. |

Paul seeing as you are sorting problems out with your customer service I will bring this to your attention, I emailed MStyle 2 weeks ago regarding price matching on a bootlip spoiler for my E92, got a read reciept immediately but no reply still so I went to SSDD.
Fair enough if you don't want to match the price but a reply would have been nice. On a good note, I drive past MStyle everyday and it always looks a busy place so they must be doing something right and when I have been into them Paul has always been polite and helpful, they also service my wifes car and we have never had any problems. I think if paul was to offer some sort of assurance that e90post members are able to contact him direct if they encounter any issues with work they elect to carry out at mstyle, that would help people to entrust mstyle given the negitive sentiment that seems to exist all over this topic.

This post just shows the power of 'word of mouth' or in this case the power of the online community. IMO reputations like these take a long time repair and the only real way to get qudos is for businesses to deliver an outstanding service (i.e. exceeding normal expectations) so that people feel strongly enough to want write good things about them.
It's good the owner has come forward to address some of the issues but I suspect it will be a while before many forum users have the desire to use their service after reading through this thread. As for the place looking busy, well whose to say these aren't unhappy customers lining up to complain (joke) |

Appreciate your comments guys. Hopefully you can see that we're not the kind of company who doesn't value our customers, hence that's why I've spoke up about the situation. I'm aware of many members on E90post who have used us and have been very happy, so hopefully this will emerge to go some way to supporting this.
Nevertheless if we have customers dis-satisifed I will gladly talk to you about it and I appreiciate the negative and positive comments people post up,this will only help me provide a better service to our customers. I'd love to spend more time on the forums and contribute more to discussions, and my intension is to do this and it's purely the 'not enough hours in a day' situation at the moment. On the contuary, if anyone has any questions they think we can answer feel free to send me over a question. If any members of the forum would like to use us please feel free to contact me directly and I will be pleased to help. Paul |

Carlos,
I think he's trying to get it up the rankings on google searches. Guys, I think we should avoid turning this into a thread akin to the one started about Big Motoring World. All opinions are of course welcome but let's try and keep it to first-hand impressions for now. Also, let's give M-Style a chance to comment and put their views forward before we pan too hard! EDIT: Paul @ M-Style: I appreciate that you do indeed have a business to run and finding time to get involved as such isn't easy. |

Thing is, ive seen this kind of thing on other car forums over the years.
It becomes Dog eat Dog and destroys what is a loving/caring community.

Threads about tuners and bad experiances. It happens but always end up deteriorating . Get people signing up to defend them etc. Then people's experiances differing so much and ensuing arguments and hatred between people.
Im all for people exposing poor workmanship and dodgy ''dealers''. Just it will end up bad, the more these cars come down in value, and the more affordable they become. Then people start servicing and maaintaing on the cheap and then get dodgy work done etc. It is a downward spiral. Just you wait and see. I hope it does not end up one big ''Bitch fight'' on here. I can see it potentially happening. So far people do seem to keep stuff to themselves, untill something big gets exposed. I think we should stop companies signing up unless there sponsors. Indviduals from companies yes. But not as companies. (OOOOPS I think we already have this?!) This thread though has put off a lot of people for sure.

I am sure that many current/active e90post members will move onto the next best thing the first chance they get but a lot of people (myself included) will hang around for quite some time to come as we won't be changing cars every couple of years. Threads like this just allow people to make informed decisions about where to spend their money. If someone goes to a backstreet mechanic and gets poor service/workmanship then at least if they mention it others can avoid making the same mistake. Also, don't make the mistake of thinking that just because something is expensive it's "good" or high quality and the same applies in reverse. If something is "cheap" doesn't mean it's rubbish. As long as this thread is properly moderated and people don't go making scurrilous allegations etc it will be fine. |
