G35revup - I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10. I'd say a Civic is smoother, and a Miata is shorter in throw. Compared to my Vette's its much smoother and easier. The throw isn't long. I'd say it's short, but it will be nice when the aftermarket shifters come out and shorten it 33%; maybe beef it up a bit too. My '03 Cobra was a total joke: long throw, imprecise, clunky. Then I put in a B&M and it was 1000% improved. For $200 an aftermarket shifter seems to always be a good investment.
