The only sure thing is that after autotune installed , my car kicks asses...feels extremely strong.

I'm very impressed...
You have full bolt ons including intercooler, what kind of octane gas do they have in europe, im sure its good.

Most of us are finding that autotune is improving our boost and reducing IC....but for some, the numbers are going in the opposite direction.

I do a pull or two and then give the car time to cool down, because I begin to notice timing advance dropping significantly on my upshift from 3rd to 4th gear.

So I stop for a while and let the car cool down.

Since autotune averages out the knock, I stop before the knock count has an impact on the autotuned average.

Having a look at harry$'s agression level = 7.8 suggests that the pulls are back to back and a lot of timing pull is being averaged into the autotune logic.

Would this not explain why his autotuning is getting less and less aggressive?

These runs were not back to back, there is a nice stretch of road on the way to work in the morning at about 20 minutes out where you can really open it up.

This is still a very small sampling where we are seeing others De Tuning such as my self, Gentlemen we need more of you to state how many runs you have made and post up more results.

I didn't add my datalogs in the prior post. These settings worked very well for me...but you can tell AutoTuning managed to make them even better

Full bolt on plus meth.

On pump (92) + meth I generally see 16-16.5 boost and 35-50% IC. With race gas (101) + meth I'm always maxed out at 17 boost and 0-30% IC depending on gear.

I feel the default aggression level for reliability should be 1.0.

Thats my .02.
What we need is decimals. I'll like to set a race map to 1.5 instead of 2, so when things get to hot autotune will start scaling back before getting to high. When I put in race gas autotune will keep raising boost and IC to 0. I look agression level as a rubber band, the higher the setting, the more elastic the rubber gets; If you pull it to hard, the rubber will break. But like Shiv said, Boost limit is a there as a safety precaution. Another solution is changing the logic on the agression level. Have a setting of 3.0 act a little less agressive(2.4), 2.0 to 1.6, 1.0 to .8. Basically just scale it back 20%. That's my .02

My settings (93 octane from Shell or Sunoco):

Map 1 in 70-85F weather:
Max Boost: 16.0 psi
Initial Boost: 37% (13.7psi) (Autotunes to 14.2psi)
Ignition Correction: 50% (Autotunes to 0-22%)
Aggression level target: 2

Map 1 in 90-100F weather:
Max Boost: 16.0 psi
Initial Boost: 37% (13.7psi) (Autotunes to 13.9psi)
Ignition Correction: 50% (Autotunes to 42%)
Aggression level target: 2

Map 2 in 70-100F weather with 100 octane:
Max Boost: 17.2psi
Initial Boost: 15% (15.0 psi) (Autotunes to 17.2psi)
Ignition Correction: 20 (Autotunes to 0%)
Aggression level target: 2

OK.......I just presumed they were back to back due to the high aggression level of 7.8

Is the aggression level ramping up so high due to excessive knock

Def need the decimal. But it will depend on your mods how autotune works.

As Shiv said (and it makes more sense now), since I run a large methanol nozzle, I already found the limit of the turbo's before I found the limit of ignition.

If I shot for a 2.0 aggression I would be somewhere well past 18 PSI, and I would still be on a stock intercooler, meaning the turbos are now making 19+ PSI on the hot side.

This is another reason auto-tuning should be taking with a grain of salt for methanol/race gas users, fundamentals of tuning, and limitations of hardware still need to be realized and understood.

(Default 7-14 settings)

After a few days of Autotuning I am seeing a solid 15psi on Fuel/Boost dash display, especially when outside air temp drops into the 70s. I have yet to confirm with datalogging.

I am quite suprised with no other mod except V4. Running 93 octane.

I put the limit at 16 because I have stock downpipes and by the look of the Ignition correction it could be higher but I just did not feel safe letting it go over 16.

Here are my autotuned values after a week of driving with 8-17 maps:

Aggression Level: 1.7
Ignition Correction: 99%
Boost Setting PSI: 11.8

Not sure why my boost setting is so low, it used to be at low 13s 2 months ago. Maybe a mix of warmer weather and bad quality gas? I'm thinking of changing my spark plugs, I have around 22K with the stock plugs.

By the way, all I have is Procede and a BMC drop-in filter.

So I'm new to this Autotune stuff, got mine V4 last week.

I'm just curious as to what parameters we can change manually in the 'user adjustable' table, and what to leave to Autotune?

I started reading about people having different starting values on certain parameters, I thought we just leave things alone, because that was the thought behind Autotune, no?

TIA

I don't see any reason to change the default settings. After a few pulls autotune adjusts them anyway. Some people feel safer starting with more conservative settings and let autotune make them more aggressive if it can, that wouldn't hurt either. At the end you should end up with the same settings.

Shell VPower 95 (ron 98 I believe)

Ign 0%
Boost: 15.2psi

Only on Shell VPower, all other pump gas dramaticaly lowers my boost and increases my IC

On Esso:

Ron98

IC: 52
Boost: 13.1

Texaco:

Ron 98

IC 49
Boost: 13.8

All after 60km highway runs.

Avg outside temp 21celcius

Gas makes the difference, soon to test RON 100 on the german autobahn. This gave some very nice extra power on the but dyno last year, way more smooth.

I need your advice!

I live in Germany and always use "SuperPlus" which is 98 ROZ. My car is a E93 335i, made 5/2008. My only Mod is the DCI and Procede V4 with newest Firmware and Maps (#28, 8-17).

I start off with default Map 1 or Map 2 and the procede always autotunes itself to the following settings:

Boost 15.8
IC 0%
Aggression 1.5

The car runs strong and smooth, I never had any codes. Nevertheless I'm kind of worried, because in the other threads I can only find lesser settings or the cars are a lot more modified (meth, dp, etc.).

Because of the ignition correction always staying at 0%, I even thought of setting the maximum boost higher to 17 psi!

Is this abnormal or did I miss anything? What would you recommend? Is it "save" to raise the boost even more? I just received catless downpipes, what maximum boost would you recommend with those installed?

Thanks for your advise!

Yours, steve
