The reason is because we had to make an entirely new center console mold for the Idrive, and being that its very costly to make a mold, we have to mark up the price since the Idrive owner percentage of e90 user is much much lower.

We could've just not offered Idrive, but that wouldn't be fun, would it?

actually, from the history of CF trim sales in the past, it was always the i-drive versions that ran out first since more of us have idrive. jLevi has always been short on stock for idrive but then took over a year to clear their non-idrive inventory. but then i guess thats even a better reason to charge more for the idrive ppl
