yeah i thought that too but then I thought to myself...If I beat him, why would he tell me he has more mods than he really does..if anything he would be more inclined to say his car was stock..but who knows..

btw I know you werent saying that I was lying, its just that its not the first time someone didnt believe me about this so I just wanted to put it out there that I have no reason to lie lol

wtf are you talkin about? i was saying that if you put the same amount of money into the 5.0 that you would have put into the 335i to beat the 5.0 the 5.0 would win. its laws of physics im talking about here...a bigger engine will put out bigger numbers lol given that you have the same mods of course but with the amount of money you put in the 335i you can get about the same mods for the 5.0.

I think YOU need to not make the 335i something theyre not...our cars are fast but come on its a 3L engine trying to put out huge numbers. its definitely possible but put that same thing in a 5L engine and you are going to get better numbers.

Technically a 3L engine at 14.7psig volumetrically displaces 6L. Forced induction is the great equalizer. However, throw some boost on the V8 and you've got a monster

Exactly..engine size isnt all that matters..look at the GTR's and corvettes..stock for stock the GTR puts out more power, but it has a smaller engine...its not that hard to understand..forced induction is the equalizer

you seem to forget that the 335i is twin turbo..not just a regular 3L engine..I dont know how much mods are for a stang..but as I said earlier..it was my FBO 335i against a FBO 5.0 stang..seems like a pretty fair comparison to me..

just because one car has a bigger engine doesnt mean it automatically makes more power than the other..it doesnt work like that..not sure what "laws of physics" you are refering too

again...go back and read...i was talking about all things equal. if you put the same amount of money into the 5.0 that you would have put into the 335i to get a supercharger or turbo you would get more power.

as for the laws of physics yeah if you put more gas and air into the 3L than goes in the 5L then yeah of course. but thats obviously not what im talking about. you keep talking about the gt-r...well how about just throw the same turbos and do all the modding for a murcialago and ull be putting down more with ease.

its all science man...a bigger engine has more potential to put out more power. its really not that hard to understand.

sorry man but youre wrong..just because one car has a bigger engine doesnt mean that it will make more power..alot more things factor into that

I guarantee you one thing..there is no way your getting forced induction and supporting mods on a 5.0 stang for the same price you would pay for full bolt ons on a 335i..a supercharger alone is going to run you about 3k if not more..for 3k I can get a tune, intake, fmic, exhaust, and maybe dps and im FBO

so again FBO 335i and FBO 5.0 stang is a fair comparisson..probally costs about the same to get full bolt ons for both

I only mentioned the GTR once, not sure whta you mean by I keep talking about it..but again, you can put turbos and all that on the lambo but it will cost alot more than if you were to mod the GTR...youre comparing apples and oranges..all im saying is that engine size isnt the sole determining factor on power output, and I think most people would agree..

If youre talking about cost for cost..well if I put 20k into a 335i and 20k into a 5.0..i dont know..with these new turbo kits coming out, i think the power output for both cars would be relatively similar

look at the supra motor..its a 3L also, but if I put 20k in that motor and 20k in a 5.0, im pretty sure I can get more power from the 2J

that may be true because a lot of turbos were made for the supra and you are right about so many factors goes into all of it, but all things equal (ive said that before) the bigger engine will have a higher output of power.

all things arent equal like compression, materials to be able to support the extra power and such i know. but i think you are not truly understanding what im trying to say.

either way i love my 335i with cobb s2+ and i wouldnt trade it for any mustang.

This is turning into a pointless argument. All things being equal, efficiency included, the engine that can displace more will make more power. Superchargers and turbochargers simply allow engines to displace more air on a temporary basis. Compare total displacement, not engine sizes, when your comparing forced induction to N/A motors.

FWIW, a Coyote engine just laid down 1003whp through the stock auto tranny. ~9 mins in is the dyno.

dont really see whats pointless of what argument youre talking about..no one is arguing here, its just a group of car enthusiasts sharing contrasting points of view, thats all..I dont know why people have to take things so seriously

I think were saying the same thing here but in different ways..either way enjoy your cars everyone..

Perhaps redundant was the better word. People were comparing smaller boosted motors to larger N/A motors, without appearing to acknowledge that adding boost has essentially the same effect as simply running with a larger motor in terms of power.

You guys are all selfish inconsiderate pricks....
Poor OP was just looking to post something fun for all of us and it's turned into a troll fight. Get lost trolls!

This is about a fun night against two other quick cars that he hung with, not about what displacement makes more power.

The 5.0 in those new mustangs are no joke, I'm not surprised at the results although I bet he has a tune. Go research these new 5.0's they respond great to mods.
