Xede at Altitude

Can anyone comment on Xede at altitude?

I asked the same question about Procede and never got an entirely clear answer. Does Xede override the auto boost that the OEM ECU adds based on altitude? Is there a high altitude map available for Xede?

I don't want to hijack your thread but it's unbelievable what's going on. It sounds like Apple with it's iPod and other consumer electronics manufacturers. They couldn't catch up with Apple so they got out of the market. The PROcede is Apple in this tuner game. AA has found the ultimative balance between reliability and power. So they won't make the step to the new generation, a PROcede V2 like device. Related to reliability they forgot that everybody can adjust the PROcede V2 settings to 75% by his own and will provide the "reliable" power output of the AA Xede and will still have enhanced functionality like more exact boost control, built-in valet switch, speed limit defender, user definable torque curve, etc. The gap is too big. No hardware to support functionalities and therefore very limited capabilities. I don't speak about skills/experience in piggyback tuning or knowing the N54.

I really would have expected more from AA. I have learned that the PROcede has been a good choice months ago.

Cheers

I've used my macbook to update the AA Xede since version R3. As long as your macbook has an intel processor, you can use a program call Parallels for Mac. That program allows you to run Windows XP or Vista within the MacOS environment. If you need help in setting up your macbook, give me a PM and I'll walk you through it.

I am curious... it seems like all hardware comes from the same manufacture....

just take a look at the box of Xede vs Proced... VS RD sport.. they look exactly the same from outside... why is that?

Take a look at Haltech, ChipTorque.... the manufacture and the type of car that box can support seems to be identical....

To me, it looks like what it comes down to is who is the better firmware programmer.. can better extract and interpreted the given parameters and modify it to feed back...

As far as the apple analogy goes.. I hate Ipod.. I own one...i hate it.. so user unfriendly.. all it got it is the look but it complete ignore the user..and force user to use that stupid Itune.... while I can plug in my Zen.. and i can drag and drop what ever i want.... no need stupid Itune and all the copy right crap to control it...

so.. still want to compare Procede as Apple?

Our current version of Xede software is version R5.

The power is very similiar to our earlier versions except for the fact that we maintain a higher boost level at 12/11 lbs instead of the previous ~10 lbs. The highest level of boost we reach is around 14/15 lbs now instead of the previous 12 lbs. The current map is also referred to as our "ABT" map where we are able to maintain our normal advertised settings without lowering the boost to prevent a CEL or 1/2 power light. We have a good amount of guys on these boards that can chime in on the power.:rocks:

If you guys have any questions or concerns please feel free shoot us a PM or an email. Remember if for some reason we dont reply right away please give us a call we always have some one available for you guys to speak with.

All pending orders have been shipped out and we still have exhaust and BOV kits in stock ready to ship. This shipment is almost sold out so dont miss out.
Hey man, Do you have any info on when I'm going to get my Xede with the downpipe software? I ordered it through Jon, but I still haven't gotten a tracking number from you guys.
I'm looking forward to testing this out.

I've been trying to figure out what your intentions were from day one.
Are you on the vishnu payrol? The reason why I ask is because you are constantly posting about the procede and how great Shiv is. I know and understand that the guy is very good about his tuning, but constantly promoting a product and praising Shiv in almost every single one of your posts is getting old.

I'm treating all of these tuners and companies with a completely objective point of view. I'm trying to test out most (if not all) of them to see what suits me the best.
Have you tried the AA Xede? Have you tried anything else? How can you cast judjment on a product that you haven't even tried?

As far as I'm concerned, AA is giving me 2 custom tunes for downpipes for me to try out, and vishnu hasn't gotten back to me with about all of my questions dealing with their downpipe maps.
So, to put it in your own words, I would have expected more from vishnu tuning.

I think Eugen has some sort of a business relationship with Shiv, and perhaps Riss Racing and Spearco as well.

He lives in Switzerland. Vishnu is in California. What possible business relationship could they have?

Hi,

I have no business relationship with Vishnu. I have been very interested all the time about AA and their Xede. I am just surprised that AA announced V1.5 which will probably never be rolled out to the customers. The reason as stated from AA is the perfect balance between reliability and power they have found. I see it different and the topic is about updates. I understood that you are fine with this, so I wish you a nice weekend.

Cheers
Eugen

You Sir are a troll! This board might as well rename itself to Vishnu Tuning, Admins on other boards will ban people for coming in and beating up on a product in a Vendor thread. Keep driving with Procede, we all have a choice, you made yours and enjoy it, JUST STOP COMING IN TO EVERY AA THREAD AND SAY HOW HORRIBLE IT IS!

On a different note, I just went to AA website and they have R6 maps available, does anybody know anything about it? Should we update? Are they better?

I don't own a chip yet, so I am saying this from n objective standpoint. Isn't the announcement of 1.5 the same as when Shiv announced V2? Somehow, though, I believe Shiv waited a lot longer to actually release V2 than did AA. Same game, IMO. They want to let the consumers know what is up their sleeve so they can get hyped up about it. Also, Shiv hasn't posted anything official on the official V2 release. There's no dyno or anything.

There's a possibility that he could be a so called vendor in Switzerland that helps the promotion of Procedes to people around there. I'm just specualting.
Now it's a little strange that he is a e90post vendor.
Vendors especially should always watch about making comments about a different product in another vendor's thread.

Looks like this thread turns to one about me. You don't have to speculate, you can ask , if you think there is a common interest.
