It's quite simple really - if it didn't come from the factory with one, don't add one.
And at the end of the day, who are you trying to impress. Most people will have no idea what an M badge is, so is lost on them anyway; likewise R, S, RS, GTI. Those who are in the know, will know that it's meaningless, so pointless again and as we have read here, attracts ridicule... |

Mine is debadged and you don't really get a much more special 3 series apart from the gts, a true car enthusiast would be able to tell by the exhaust anyway.

My point is that the reason many people (but not all ) debadge is to hide the model version, lets face it people have been swapping, adding & removing car badges for as long as I've been driving, which is over 40 years. Personally, I'd rather have an M3 that looks like an 320 than a 320 that looks like an M3, but it's all a matter of personal taste

Mine is debadged too, that's the way it came but if it hadn't I would've debadged it myself, as I did my last car - my reason, I just don't like badges of any description

I'm all for the sleeper stealth look. Doesn't attract the wrong kind of attention, and can be quite interesting when you have more of a car performance-wise than the looks would suggest.

Obviously a car enthusiast would tell the difference but I had to point them out to my wife and daughter. |
