Tick tock...
Thanks buddy. Appreciate that. I likely will make another thread at some point with more lengthy details. But at this moment they are out of stock and I expect them to be back in stock HOPEFULLY in less than a week. Latest order appears to have been caught up in a backorder situation. They are $45 shipped to paypal rob.rbturbo@gmail.com though if interested, and there is more info about tech on n54tech. Quote:

Great question and thanks for the compliment. I've always just try to be cordial yet factual. It can be a tough crowd out there sometimes though with a lynch mob mentality. It is a shame because we all have much to learn from others. As for the product and revisions. Not many. The actuator ends I started making my own, I didn't like the source I was working with on them and felt the materials were cheap. After the first maybe 15 or so sets I started using Step Gap seals, although I don't think they amount to much at the end of the day at least I can say they are used. There has been some changes in the machining processes, but nothing that should affect performance. Overall its the same wheels and internals and materials that have always been used. I've used these combinations of wheels in past lifetimes (with other platforms) and they are a great match for an engine like the N54; I just didn't want to ruin what I know is a proven combo. Quote:

Welcome aboard. Curious, do you have any overlay of the stock vs. your upgraded t4 wheel for the efficiency map?

Not my specific map, pretty sure I never located it and MHI is not much on releasing much data. You can kind of improvise with the 13T and 16T maps- they are easier to find out there. If I dig it up though I'll post it.

Mine went in last week, waiting on tuning from ptf. I have dyno time at the end of next month when the maps are complete for results.

Good to see you here with official vendor status.
I've had my RBs for over a year now and the car drives very well with them, together with a dedicated map from ProTuningFreaks (20.6 to 18psi on 98 octane gas, for the record). Alpina_B3_Lux

Nice! Can't wait for my stockers to go out so I can upgrade, but then I'd need a better clutch. And Flexfuel. And upgraded rear suspension and diff. And...

Basically, the car takes off at 5000RPM and the powerband between 5000-7000RPM is much better. Until 5000RPM you can achieve similar power with maxed out stock turbos (however, the IATs on stock turbos will be much higher requiring the use of methanol - so again RBs also have an advantage until 5K).
About the spool: Keeping the low-end torque was one of my top priorities in choosing the RBs. You can make the car feel *almost* like with stock turbos but you have to employ some tuning tricks at low RPMs, and your wastegate tuning must be done very well. I made huge progress on RB turbo spool from the first maps after I had them installed until the latest map iterations with my own ATR maps. I am at the point where I am *almost* very happy with the low-end torque.

Hey Rob, couple questions. Since you're local, do you have a shop and do installs? Or just primarily a machine shop of some sort? Also, curious about this PCV. Is there a link about it? Any benefits to a non rb turbo'd car (stock turbos)?
