I personally like the white LEDs under the door handles that greet me when i approach the car... It's like the car is saying hello...

On the practical side, if you live in cold region and you have freezing rain, no way you would be able to open the doors without a handle.

Makes no difference... rain, snow, ice, etc. Doors kick open approx. 1.5" via a spring loaded popper! You just grab the door edge and pull vs the door handle and pull

remember, there are many exotic cars that come stock w/ no door handles!

Again, please look at my post #27 for the intelligence factor about doing this on a daily driver.

I do agree with you on that one! I am just trying to kill any and all myths since lots of people do not speak from experience and have no clue how shaved door handles work or preform, in which I did my own installs so I can answer any and all questions.

Regardless, I am not doing this mod to my BMW (had on the 3 previous vehicles), but want to make sure someone interested is not turned off by all the myths from the un-experienced.

Fair enough. When they work properly, its a really cool mod.

Oh and to the OP. Do it! I'd like to see how this looks and what it costs. Not really my cup of tea and besides my wife would say something like this to me, "you are such a retard. I can't believe you cut off your door handles... Who are you?

Agreed. Some of the cheaper companies use crap solenoids and they burn out. As long as you go w/ autoloc and install properly, they work flawlessly.

I used the 45lb autoloc solenoids in the RSX and mounted everything using my own custom mounts that I fabricated, and they have worked flawlessy since the end of 01, and it was a daily driver.

The previous vehicle I purchased some 25lb knockoff solenoids and had some crap shop do the install, and some times they would work and sometimes they wouldn't, lol.

So like all other mods, it comes down to quality components and isntall! Very cool mod IMO, but isn't for everyone :P

So every time that I accidentally unlock all the doors while fumbling for my keys I'll have to jog around the car pushing all the doors shut? Or how about if I just want to let some one in the passenger side?

Kit comes w/ a remote, in which the buttons are kinda recessed... can't accidently hit the buttons unless you intend to.

If you just want to let someone in the passenger side, you can hit the button two on your remote or the optional button that can be mounted anywhere in the cab. Or just lean over and open the handle.

shaved handles doesn't do much for me.

my friend did it to his old ride, but could never get the solenoids to work correctly.
