could the E46 SMG shifter fit as well??? shouldn;t be a problem because there is no wiring to that one... I kind of like that one better because its smaller... the main reason why I dont like the auto shifter.

seems like ppl are using all kinds of knobs for the auto stock knob.
could i use the manual m knob that they make for the e90, n just replace it for my auto knob? bcuz it looks like it wud feel really good, i wud like paint over the 1-6 gear writings tho. just as i can get confirmation that it wud work properly... since there is no button on the manual knob tho, wud it still work the same, just i dont have to click the button cuz there wont be one?

Iam not too sure if you can transfer the manual knob to the auto gear.but again if you willing to try on it.feel free.. ![]() for some amateur shops, it can takes the whole day to set up the wiring. and for those expert shops, takes only 3 hours the MAX |

I did exactly the same mod !!!
You would need some wiring to light up the knob, and the lights will go on with the respective shift from P to R, N, D and SD (extra bright). The lever is gone - now I'll only need to step on the brake pedal to shift the knob up or down......

Stock boot is ok. I'll try to snap pics of the wiring if possible.
