Gotta break in the new diff for 2Kmi and I haven't been on a track in three years come spring so there's a lot of catching up to do first. Haven't decided but leaning toward NASA.

No kidding? Cool!

FWIW it looks like the cams are going to make power and the intake will be paired with the MILVs for more power. More details Monday.

They lost the same amount of power as I saw in my car but Bob was able to recover it all with tuning so when he mechanically retards the cams four degrees the limit on the VANOS adjustment will be removed and more power should be produced.

I've asked if it's possible to retard the cams another four degrees while asking Todd at Riot Racing if he can keep the same regrind contour but grind in a four degree retard instead of advance angle.

And the MILVs will be reinstalled to compound the intake cam lift for a further increase.

Maybe we'll have some dyno data this coming week.

Hoping to use all this in conjunction with head flow work by Wide Open Throttle Technologies for further increases along with ITBs.

So, even the first set you had made may have been right?

Looking forward to results.

Only had one set made. They require a tune and mechanical offset on installation to work. How well they can work remains to be seen. Being tested on a 330i w/o headers so maybe the actual improvement on a car with headers will be greater, dunno.

Stopped by to drop off the mirror brackets and got some pictures. It's a six point cage to stay within SCCA rules, we'll extend it to eight point later as that'd be allowed in NASA GTS2.

Also listened to the exhaust under cold start, idle, and high rev. Sounds about the same as the PE did. That's a relief.

Correction on front brake cooling -- there isn't a need for a duct box on the frame rails, the M235iR oval port at the rotor is used with std round cooling duct mashed 'flat' to match and then routes easily with very little steering lock reduction. Using the stock brake cooling ducts as inlets but cutting them shorter and blanking off the openings in the wheel well liners. Steering lock limiting spacers are installed but aren't enough to keep it off the streets, can still turn tightly enough to pull into a parking space, for example.

I've been looking for someone that makes these door cards. Are they OEM and do you have them in the rear too? I'd like a set of 4.

No plans for that and I think they drilled the door and installed rivnuts at all the attachment points so it wouldn't do much good really. They're not hard to make, you can do the same with some butchers paper taped on the door to trace out a template.

You know if you do this you can't drive in the rain anymore unless you seal it with the butyl stuff the factory uses or you'll have water streaming into the car eventually.
