Those are corrected numbers, so no. Those are what your car might've actually made at a lot lower DA on a nice day. If you want to see what it's actually putting out in your location, look at uncorrected numbers. They'll be a lot lower, as you should expect at that altitude.

Not bad at all.
Still; another example of how US and EU horses differ.
That is getting close to the kinda power that we get on the Stage2+ MHD tunes.

Low Dyno Numbers

Hi guys,

Got my car dyno'd today, and I have to say, not terribly impressed - basically dyno'd what a stock 335i would;

Here are my mods:

2011 BMW 335is - 6 speed

VRSF 7 inch HD FMIC (installed today, before dyno)

VRSF Catless downpipes

BM DCI

JB4 with BEF

25% E85 (first time running any ethanol)

My dynojet corrected numbers are 314 whp and 361 ft pound of torque.. and this was after a number of pulls, so hopefully it was able to learn the mixture.

I was running Map 2 because Map 5, even with e85 mix, would not go above 15, so I knew Map 2 would at least target a higher boost level (18 is targeted on Map 2)Name: BMW 335is Dyno.jpg
Views: 5290
Size: 626.0 KB.

I've attached both logs of my pulls, and the dyno picture.

Really hope you can help, not super impressed with these numbers..

well, it looks like the map2 run (where you manged to get 14+psi) the IATs were in the 120+ range so I doubt it will make power there regardless of boost - what was the blower used by the dyno operator? And when you look at WGdcs, they are approaching 60+ as the rpm goes above 4600 (on either run). That is also when you begin to see a large delta on boost target vs mean. That tells me these snails are starting to show some age. Either that or you need to check vacuum hoses and boost solenoids...

You say the IC was installed before the dyno? as in JUST before? you probably had some adaption issues still going on.

So, what is the age of this n54? You got waste gate rattle? I doubt you will be able to make much more boost without some scroll work..

The other thing is this is a mustang eddy current dyno. At a min they are 10 percent below the avg dynojet.

I'm not sure why the IATs were so hot. It was 50F, and a little warmer in the shop. Fan was also going. Once out of the shop, it was running around 60-70F.

The car is a 2011 with 93,000 kms (57,000 m). A little wastegate rattle at cold start, but otherwise nothing; no smoke on starts or anything like that either.

I've been told by some people they think there is a possible boost leak, but i was hoping this wasn't from the turbos..

Id start with vac hoses to sels and Vac canisters, then boost sels.
If the DCs dont change much (try to get a datazap mhd log), you got snails in the future.

What altitude are you at? Try to get a baro pressure reading. That influences the DCs and how you want to manage fuel scalers

Sorry for the noob response, but what are DCs?

I'm in Vancouver, so I am basically at sea level..

Also to answer you're earlier question, the FMIC was installed just before, so i did wonder if this would effect its initial ability to cool.. it works like a dream now, and IATs actually drop after a pull.

Thx for your help.

I think the culprit might be the stock diverter values on the aftermarket charge pipe.. Will need to look at aftermarket ones I suppose?

im guessing you did the dyno at RG ?? i got my fmic installed as well just before i did my dyno and with e25 map mhd i had 412whp and 450 torque at 16.5psi ... no downpipes, stock air box, only tune and a vrsf fmic

i had no issues with high IATs even though fmic was installed minutes before doing the dyno

Duty Cycles. Short for the amount of time the Waste Gates are closed to try to make boost at the target level. As they age they have to stay closed more. And that will eventually cause WG rattle if you use the higher boost frequently.

Yeah it was at RG. I assume your numbers are also dynojet corrected? I know RG usually shows low numbers, but your numbers confirm the fact i'm running significantly less than i should be considering everything. Would be curious to see if numbers would change dramatically having the IATs at a more normal rate.

Do you have a log or a dyno graph for comparison purposes?

i posted one of 3 runs ...

i dont have a log since the dyno sheet doesnt show a date and since i got nearly hundred logs it would be impossible to figure out which one it was

i also had issues with my boost solenoids so it was never hitting 18 psi...always around 16ish... i had a check engine light pop up on one of the runs....
now im at 21 psi with a custom tune for the past few months... runs strong... no check engines... i also added a DCI intake so i might dyno it again soon

Here is the Dyno. I think these are decent numbers for what I have. Also I had asked the speedshop not to run it to redline but shift around 6K. So maybe it would have made a little more.
  • ARM 7" FMIC
  • ARM DP's
  • ARM DCI's
  • ARM CP
  • Tial Like BOV
  • VS BAP MAP Adapter (for BOV to intake)\
  • MHD Stage 2+

Here is the 2 data logs of the DYNO Run's if anyone cares: https://datazap.me/u/geosbmw/arm-fbo...-5-14-24-25-28

solid #s

you wouldnt make more by pushing it past 6000rpm... these tunes taper the boost the higher you go so there is no need pushing it past 6000 rpm on stock turbos
